I know its only been 2 games but he could be on for Manager of the month at this rate....Has there ever been a better assistant coach before?...so good maybe they had to change the rules to literally stop him from doing his job 'ASSISTING' in the technical area...and now the first chance we've seen him taking charge the Toon bang NINE goals in 2 games. Maybe even John Carver thinks he's taken his mantle.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy won 3 and drew 1 of his 4 games at Man U. He really should have left England after that

    For Newcastle, probably not.

Generally though, Steve McClaren was a fantastic assistant to Ferguson

I wouldn't be too hard on him for yesterday....Villa literally just beat PSG who are highly likely to win the Champions League so im still positive on Champions League qualification.

For me, yesterday exposes our lack of planning. We have a very, very set game plan and don’t seem able to change it. It works more often than not, but the manner of defeat yesterday was quite disappointing.

Didn't even try swapping Trippier and Livramento for 5 or 10 mins. They did nothing. If you gave Howe and Tindall a time machine they would go back and change nothing.

That’s very calm and reasonable for a man of your calibre?

We are having a great season, but we still need reinforcements, squads barebones

One thing though no matter how many goals are scored ive felt maybe for awhile the Toon don't have a playmaker that regularly plays those ball-along-the-ground defense-splitting pass like a Maddison or an Odegaard. If you look back at the last few seasons goals it seems to me almost none of them actually came from a low ball splitting through oppositions defense being ran onto and finished. Of course goals can still be scored from pressing and mistakes from the opposition or individual bits of skill and good crosses setting up opportunities or sometimes chips over the top...but not having that weapon in the arsenal is maybe holding full potential back. Of course with the current midfield so highly rated getting someone in who does those kind of passes regularly is perhaps unlikely.

Wow thanks for that evidence...that certainly backs my theory up...so its even worse than i thought...according to that chart...Damsgard and Bruno G almost identical amount of through balls...yet Damsgard has maybe FIVE times more goal assists directly from those through balls...Bruno has ONE as far as i know against wolves in the 3-0...Two IF you want to count the pass to Gordon in the 1-2 away win at Spurs but I wouldnt call that a through ball....whereas Damsgard...i'll let the vid explain as literally HALF of his TEN assists this season were through balls...And Bruno (as loved as he may be) ONE or two from six assists....Not even close...And no im not saying i'd rather have Damsgard over Bruno...i just wouldnt mind some of those Damsgard type through balls in the vid below being done by toon players.

Yeah but that’s not how we play - Murphy and then Gordon/Barnes are the outlets.

Exactly... and when that doesnt work without the extra string to the bow to unlock their defense it may feel like the options are limited compared to the teams who have those kind of players....Imagine if Howe had a Damsgard type option as well...
Anyway perhaps nobody including myself wants Bruno, Joelinton or Tonali replaced in midfield...but as a sub option... that might be something...although i suppose maybe not easy to find someone already established like that willing to be a sub.

I'm not here to spoil the party but we need better players than Damsgard.

I think the point is we need better players than Longstaff, Willock and Wilson on the bench - which Damsgaard is. People who bring something different. If we had, for example, Kulusevski available, he's versatile and talented. It's about having a better option than the usual "hmmmm, this 4-3-3 isn't working. Let's bring on Willock, Longstaff and Wilson for Joelinton, Murphy and Isak, keep the formation exactly the same but shift Barnes out of position and ultimately ensure we have no ****ing chance whatsoever of getting a goal."

I'd rather just get better players than that sort of 'anyone will do' approach. They've got to wait for the right players and if they aren't available wait.

Nothing backs your theory up, like nothing backs up your weird conspiracy theories in the Trump thread.

We don't need a Damsgard type option cos we have far better players in midfield right now. Mbeumo is the Brentford player we should sign.

Well, we've been waiting for about two years now, so hopefully they've just about managed to find a player or two in the same period we've seen the emergence of Huijsen, Milekovic, Murillo, Aina, Zabarnyi, Ouattara, Dibling, Cunha, Hutchison, Delap, Verbruggen, Kerkez, Schade, etc., etc.

As for Mbeumo, yeah i dont mind Mbeumo...and Damsgaard wasn't someone i was thinking of when i made that post but after looking up his stats maybe as a sub like Roland Deschain said someone like that might bring something different.

As for the other thing maybe i should thank you...Completely understandable reaction to the definitely out of the ordinary stuff ive posted in the Trump thread...a year ago i had no idea who Brandon Biggs was and ive never previously seen any evidence my whole life that what maybe millions of Christians ('weirdly' according to you) say they believe about the endtime was necessarily close... but after looking into that Brandon fella and his spot on predictions and doing more investigations i personally am convinced...but im not here to convince anyone...just made a post about something that simply waiting on Trumps presidency to play out will prove the truth of because the huge financial crash, pandemic far worse than Covid and end of the Dollar with a new digital currency has all been predicted to happen WITHIN Trumps presidency...so time will reveal without any arguments necessary how much nonsense i am talking maybe.

Also whatever you do dont buy XRP crypto as that has been predicted by all the 'whackjobs' to skyrocket and they are all perhaps obviously lunatics who we should pay no attention to with all their 'flukey' correct predictions they make one after the other.
Maybe Cheers for waking me up from my delusions about Damsgard as well being an effective player that could add something....the stats just like the correct predictions mean nothing obviously and should be ignored.
And perhaps time will tell obviously that ive been taken for a ride by a 'conspiracy theorist' who simply has Donald Trump and terrorists in his back pocket who follow his orders making his youtube predictions come true...He's obviously the real man in charge this Brandon....even forced Trudeau to resign 7 days after he predicted Trudeau would be removed from office when the Canadian election was still months away....oh did i not mention he 'fluked' that prediction as well...what a jammy run of results this guys on....will it ever end...
Fortunately perhaps we've all got you to provide the evidence and stats i maybe didnt find in your post.
And maybe we should chastise the Dailymail for weirldly informing the whole world about his predictions....since its so weird that anyone would pay any attention to anything out of 'their' ordinary.

And yes if you managed to read through the sarcasm-dripping-kidding around stuff i am just having fun Charlie....don't take my teasing serious...im not offended that someone doesnt share my unconventional (to secular people) point of view (you may well can imagine I'd have to be offended at a LOT of people perhaps if I was). Im enjoying this debate tho and thot it would be a good idea to make a funny post to bump when his other predictions 'dont' come true (still just teasing)
    Peace
