It would be nice but 3 points is all that matters first and foremost. We need that little cushion back before Brighton.
We never got to grips with their pace. Nightmare game for Schar aside from the goal. Nowhere near a red card though.
I've got a bad feeling about Ipswich now because that will have knocked the stuffing out of our lads and everyone's going to turn up eating sandwiches.
Though our players won't be playing their third game in six days, with zero rotation. Should have a lot more energy, hopefully.
Without Europe Villa would probably be 2nd. In certain areas they are miles ahead. Our lack of pace is disgraceful at times. Still absolutely fuming having to watch Wilson being brought on. His stats are ****ing abysmal, what is anyone on the bench thinking? Knew we’d lose this, but it’s about winning the three home matches and grabbing a point Brighton.
We did rotate vs man united and Palace to an extend during the games mind. The so called tiredness doesn't explain everything yesterday imo. What I saw was an issue on our right hand side that was never addressed in a game we were still in, until two of our ball winners were booked and our players sulked before throwing the towel in. Barnes being moved the right to fix the hole was interesting. I mean, he's not even very good going fwd on that side never mind being asked to fix the hole in the side of the titanic. I agree though we should be in a better place for Saturday and we've got a chance still of champions league football and that could be huge for this project this time.
Yesterday just try something... They wait and wait and wait and when it's too late they move Barnes to the right and make it worse. I guess they think whatever they do will make it worse anyway.
Coaching stupidity. Villa needed a 541 setup. Osula for Isak as well, Wilson’s a complete ****ing liability. Barnes hasn’t once worked well on the right, so what kind of idiot keeps doing it?
I don't think we make changes for tactical reasons. Whatever we start with will either work or it won't and that's that. When was the last time you saw Newcastle grind anything out or a nice tactical change from Newcastle?
We won that easily. I'm specifically referring to when it's not going well and they've made a tactical change during a game.
Never. But we have had such a **** squad I’ll judge next season. Doesn’t matter what formation you’re playing, if you have nothing in reserve for right wing, right back, centre back or up front you’re ****ed more often than not. Same positions we’ve been going on about for years and i am praying to every god that Nick Pope doesn’t start next season in goal, he’s ****ing crap.
I'm not buying into this notion weve got nothing on the bench and no options because it's really not the case. It's simply today's excuse... go 4 5 1 get willock and Miley on...do something to get a foothold in a game we really needed no more than a point in. We were worse in every area right down to effort and desire imo.
For the first time in a while the score didn’t bother me to much last night. Granted, it was frustrating us capitulating the way we did but we’re THIRD in the league with a cup. We were bound to lose at some point, no team just keeps winning. In a way it should give the lads a bit of a reality check that teams will punish us if we slack off even slightly. If we don’t beat Ipswich that’s another matter..
