Thanks a lot but we're only visiting the east side, mainly around Sydney and Canberra as I have family in those areas
just a thought...this time in '99 i was in australia, so if anyone wants to stump up for my plane fare..... ...we love an omen like.
I believe it's quite far from side to side ... ... according to my mate, Terry, that's why the Romans never invaded Australia and built a wall. Sounds about right to me like.
@Smug in Boots you organising the East Coast Mainline express tickets for the final? You could get a carriage sorted?
I had a look at train and flights today for going down on the Friday and coming back Sunday. Even with one of those 2 together railcards, flights only work out about £30 more
I’m in Perth and Brisbane for the first two tests. Staying in Northbridge to start. Have you managed to get yourselves some tickets, yet?
Not got tickets yet. They go on sale here on June 3rd. I work just over the road from Northbridge. I’ll be taking the days off anyway. Need to catch up for that beer.
I’ll have to check the schedule they’ve sent me, I believe I’m in Perth for 9 nights and then off to Brisbane for 11 nights. We arrive 3 days before the first test to give us time to settle in. We’ll definitely have that beer
It’s starting to dawn that the semi-finals and final need to be thought about, arrangement-wise … … there’ll be hotels, for the away leg, so I’m booking ‘free cancellation’ hotels in various places, Bristol, Coventry, etc. There’ll be a mad rush on the 3rd of May I've also started clocking injuries to players of the playoff teams … … Bristol lost their best/only left back against Luton after twenty minutes. In a vital game he didn’t come off as a precaution
Hotel rooms booked months ago at same place we stopped at for game v Wycombe for myself, 3 sons and 3 grandchildren. Can't wait and I am one of those that isn't too worried about opposition or our form. Once the injured and rested players are back and they look at each other and see that they are surrounded by the players who have got us this far then that will give them that extra edge - imo.
For me, it's like waiting for Xmas as a kid. You know it's not that far away and you just want it to be here as soon as possible. As long as RLB puts his strongest team together (or as close to it as he can) for the next 2 games, the players should get used to playing together again. The only slight concern I have is down the left with Cirkin and Mundle working their way back. Cirkin could be back for Saturday supposedly and with Watson putting a shift in on Monday, that may save rushing Mundle back or playing someone out of position. Mayenda has taken the spot up front for me, Bristol City's centre halves were scared ****less of him, midfield will be the most interesting for me. Most of the season it was Neil, Jobe and Rigg so one of those could be dropping out for Le Fee and then there's Roberts. He has an amazing touch, can frighten defenders and make room for others but his end product is not as good as it could be - so does he make the starting 11? Can't wait to find out on May 9th!
Defeats in the last six games ... ... bearing in mind everyone except Sunderland desperately needed to win. Plus next games to play. Sheff Utd 3 - away to Stoke - fighting against relegation Sunderland 3 - doesn't matter Bristol 2 - away to Leeds - fighting for the title Coventry 3 - away to Luton - fighting against relegation Boro 3 - home to Norwich - flip-flops Millwall 2 - home to Swansea - flip flops So Sheff Utd, Coventry and Bristol have the 'tougher' games while Boro and Millwall's games look 'easier'. Hopefully all the games are riddled with red cards, injuries and loads of extra time.
Now I’m out my little strop from yesterday I’m looking forward to the qpr game hopefully a nice warm day few pints in the sun and see a strong side getting ready for 3 huge games
