Aren't parkruns 5k distance? I can just about cover that still after taking up the couch to 5k thingy during lockdown... More often than not use a treadmill now rather than the great outdoors, but maybe we should all get together for one?? I suspect I'm younger than you guys but probably not as fit when it comes to the running side of things
Great idea Bluey. My local is Tremorfa but if Brizzle wants to join us we could do the Severn Bridge or somewhere else between here and Bristol. I’ve been going out and about recently doing a bit of Parkrun tourism. I’ve also been diagnosed with a bit of COPD now on top of my asthma, even though I stopped smoking 23 years ago, so definitely slowing down. I’m just Jeffing these days so the wooden spoon would be mine. However Mrs Irish (38 minutes) and Rumney (28 minutes) would join us as well.
I've done Rogiet 3 times. All off road and quite lumpy. No hills though. Tredegar House is flat, some off road. Newport Riverfront. Bit too close to Pill for my liking. Tremorfa sounds okay. Rumney looks too good for us.
I’ve done Tredegar House a lot. Love that course. Also Pontypridd, Cwmbran, Llanishen Park, Cosmeston, Cardiff, Grangemoor and Colby. Oh and Waterworks in Belfast. And you’re right, Rumney is too fast but then again he’s young!
