I know you saying this as a criticism of Slater but on the other hand he can't have done much wrong if you didn't notice him
Burstow I still think there is hope for and feel he's been treated a bit harshly and not given a proper run of games under Selles. He's still only 21 and at least he's scored. As much as I like Pedro he's just so easy to defend having no pace at all
Tim Walter does not deserve more credit. He is statistically proven to be one of the worst managers Hull City has ever had in the club’s entire history.
No they stopped while there was still games going on in the Championship. They've now got them back up
I liked Burstow on the left but I seem to be the only one. So I'm either a genius of blind fool and I don't want you all to tell me which
The last couple of appearances off the bench he's made - barely a few minutes, chasing the game in most cases - he's looked devoid of confidence and not half the player he looked earlier in the season when he was either starting or being given a decent time as a sub. That said, maybe the team was playing better and that helped him. He was supposed to go out on loan for the second half of the season, which would have helped his development. His time at Sunderland and this season with us really just show that several (4?) different managers feel he's not at the standard required. He needs to drop down a level and build up experience and playing nous. Hopefully out on loan next season rather than with us in the third tier.
Happy to agree that we're playing very badly at the moment, but there's a real attempt to rewrite the record in order to damn Selles. I looked at the points per game for all those teams and us from before and after the new manager appointments. Lampard is the clear winner as their ppg has gone up 88%, second is Selles with 58% improvement, then Rowett 44%, Robins 27%, and Neil 23%. I think people forget just how bad our results were before he took over.
Depends what stats you choose to look at I guess. Of course, no question, there's clear logic to look at ppg since Selles took over. But then let's look at the ppg over the last 6. It's .83 Without that last gasp wonder goal v Sheff W it would have been 0.5 At this stage, that is nowhere near good enough and doesn't scream 'improvement' in any shape or form. And that's without even considering how poor the actual performances have been, what little threat we pose, etc. during these more recent games. Could argue it's the usual thing of a new manager coming in, taking over from a mess, sorting us out by re-implementing basics, so things improve initially
Strange burstow came out and slagged Walter didn’t he? When Walter left Maybe you’re just a bit **** son
Are you sure? Not sure Oxford did either. I remember they went on a great little run that rocketed them to mid table.
To think we could have got a fee of Plymouth for Burstow... but he was needed her to keep the bench warm or not improve them..
Must be something wrong with your stats... since playing us Millwall form is 17 games 3 draws, 9 wins, 5 defeats.
Jesus. I can tell you stuff, but I can't make you understand it. Selles started when we had a ppg much, much lower than those other teams had when their new manager started. Do you need me to draw pictures for you? I genuinely have no idea what point you think you're making. What's the significance of what's happened since we last played them to the stats I posted?
