At least he put his laces through It unlike the powder puff attempts in the first half by a player who was subbed much earlier.

    There’s various scenarios for today.

If Cardiff lose, Luton and Plymouth don’t win and we do then we’re almost home and hosed.

Contrariwise if we lose and Cardiff , Derby and Plymouth win then we’re dragged back to the edge of the vortex.

If us and Cardiff draw, regardless of the others results then we still maintain a three point gap, which with our superior goal difference is essentially a four point advantage with 3 games to play. This would be a better position than we are currently in.

    Bring it on.

One thing I have noticed, given that I have been one of his (perhaps harshest) critics this season, is that Abu Kamara has quietly gone about improving his game. He looks a lot more confident; whether that's because he's playing on the right with the captain behind him (who has also done well this season in terms of attacking intent) or simply because he's now backing himself maybe somebody else can answer, but I like what I'm seeing now.

I agree he’s improving. He says he’s learning a lot from some of the more experienced squad members, and he’s responded to the battering he took when it was alleged he was lazy, not tracking back with purpose etc.

He gets in really good attacking positions when the ball is down our left and more importantly as in the last game, can score when cross field opportunities occur.

I think he’s now being well coached and managed; don’t think that was the case earlier in the season.

I can see him really kicking on next season and becoming a really influential player for us.

But for now I just hope he has a positive impact this afternoon.

That cross-field ball is becoming quite a decent outlet for us. Burstow to Kamara against Leeds, Puerta to Kamara who then gave it to Pedro against Bristol City and Amrabat to Kamara against Coventry.

Selles has mentioned a couple of times that they specifically try to create that situation and work on it in training.

It's kicking the ball from A to B which a professional footballer should be able to do. Football, let's not try and make it too complicated.

Well it's not, it's sucking the opposition into certain pockets of space so that there's space out the back for us to pass into and our players to run into. If it's as simple as you made it then you'd be manager of England.

Slightly surprised at that. Is that only Puerta for Alzate?

He was really good on Monday when he came on.

I mean the goal was a slice of luck obviously - but getting in that position in the first place was good work. He popped up a few times in our own box too to do some really good defensive work.

I never really understood much of the criticism to be honest. I think people thought he was going to be a Sterling type winner running with pace down the win, but he feels much more Jaden like to me.

I’d say there’s a bit more to it than that. It’s about baiting the other team to shift to one side of the pitch and switching the ball to a free man quickly. It requires the right amount of power and decent accuracy. It’s harder than it looks.

not bothered checking stats, but I'd assume he's got more combined goals and assists than anyone else in the squad this season?

Not filled with confidence over the lineup. Last time he dropped Alzate we needed to bring him on to improve us, and anytime Palmer starts it doesn't really happen. They say he's hot and cold so I guess today he's due to be hot?

We'll yeah, that's what football is.

The notable thing here is where A and B actually are, and where the players involved are at that time.
