Went to Madeira last night, was actually very nice but, as you said, not top drawer either. I ended up having a rib eye, which was well cooked and the sauce very nice. They do roasted cauliflower, patatas, green salad and, a bit odd, garden peas as sides. Not the best steak I've ever had, but miles from being the worst. Most of the kids had the hanging kebab things, and they all ate them so they must have been good. My eldest had this seafood pasta dish which looked bloody lovely. The wine was great. I'd go again tbf, certainly not a one off. Just a shame it's on Kingsway, as that place is dead otherwise now.
Glad it was good for you, I've had terrible food in the one in Cardiff but other people were there enjoying food that looked good. It's inconsistent sometimes good and sometimes not.
We were the last sitting, they close the kitchen at nine. Sensible move, there is no ****er around past eight. Was very busy when we got there though. The house wine was the most impressive, both red and white.
