Since the owners test was made more rigorous, there's been these two (but I'm sure there's plenty of historic ones as well)... Andrew Pilley (Fleetwood Town): Pilley was convicted of fraud and was found to have deceived small business owners into long-term energy contracts. He was disqualified by the EFL and forced to sell his majority shareholding in Fleetwood Town. Dai Yongge (Reading FC): Reading FC owner Dai Yongge was disqualified by the EFL due to debts and court rulings in China, requiring him to divest his ownership of the club by a set deadline, according to sportlawmusings.com.
Maybe they have no interest today but it wasn't always the case. They used to sponsor the club in the mid 70's, if anyone has any old match programmes just dig them out and have a look, Healys Decorators, and the Status store is in there. One of the Healys used to attend City in disguise, believe it or not. I was once in his company in the Best Stand at Boothferry Park, he was with an ex manager of Goole Town who was a relative of the mate I was with. The family would not get involved with City because of all the abuse the Needler family got. I remember a conversation somewhere which went, if they sponsored one club ( City) every Tom, Dick, and Harry would be banging on their front door also expecting sponsorship. They remained a very private family, completely under the radar, until the HDM ran a front page story about one of the brother birthday parties and who was there, where they lived etc. Until then they were relatively unknown. For the record one of the Healy lads had a private box at Old Trafford. The people who would have been interested in buying City once upon a time now own HKR.
At least one of them lived in Swanland when I lived there in the late 70’s, early 80’s and they had a party for one of their kid’s when they were 18 or 21 and they flew Belinda Carlisle over to do a set. They also had the Radio One DJ Dave Lee Travis there and he was talking about it on his show the day after.
That could be the one the HDM covered on their front page. Didn't they suffer a violent robbery at home soon after?
Don’t remember that but it wouldn’t surprise me if having that information broadcast on what was the most listened to station in the country at the time would have probably alerted some criminal elements.
Not bad as a crazy Roman emperor/God either. Nephew of his clodhopper uncle Claudius and uncle to fiddling while-Rome- burnt nephew Nero. Fantastic BBC TV series.
Who the **** cares about UK company law? Acun can have a Hull City club that plays in the National League or below but there's no right for a side he owns to play in the EFL. They can expel his club if he doesn't sell up and he's quite clearly not going to hang onto us if the alternative is expulsion. I have no idea why you've set your stall on this. You've had a few weird arguments today.
Can’t recall the timeline but mid 90’s a gang broke in to Malcolm’s house (Hotham Hall I think), tied the whole family up and stole money and jewels. Not long after that he had secure fencing put up at his grandchild’s school (I know that cos our house backed into the school and we got a free fence at the back…but it was more difficult for our kids to nip over the fence to use the playground in holidays) Also his daughter was murdered in Ellerker.
Hah I can trump all of them , I had to search out the original suppliers of the toilet in his down stairs loo at Westella Hall , he needed a new seat ! It had been in umpteen years probably avocado or pink , the room needed a complete re do but I don’t think he wanted to spend the money - allegedly . I found it and got it fitted .
That’s nowt. I’ve got a reproduction French 1920s telephone from Hotham Hall. Can’t remember whether it’s Malcolm’s or Eddies old one.
If it was actually from Hotham House it’s Malcolm’s, but if it was from Hotham Hall, it’s neither of them.
