Was Roberto Di Matteo not better?

I think midfield is pretty stacked for this anyway and personally would go with Modric and Gerrard. I wont be mentioning Bruno Fernandes even though I think he's pretty good but just not as good as others mentioned. I'll even leave Rob Lee out of the conversation.

Yeah, probably he was better to be fair.
But neither of them would beat Modric or Slippy G so a moot point I guess.
I would make a case for Hasselbaink being the best PL striker never to have won the league though....
I guess Luis Suarez would need to be in there, the ****.
Plus Le Tiss and Jermain Defoe

For the strikers list you'd have to add Harry Kane, Fernando Torres and Timo Werner.

Keeper is a tough one. I'd probably have to go Lloris.
As much as I hate Spurs, he was a ****ing good keeper.
Who else would be up there though? All the great PL keepers I can think of won the PL.
Schmeichel, Cech, Seaman, Barthez, Van Der Sar, De Gea, Courtois, Alisson, Edison.
Lloris is the only top tier one I can think of with zero titles.
Next tier down would be like Reyna, Pickford.....meh

Same as Grobbelaar, he won the top flight a couple of times with Everton in the 80's I think.
    Deffo peaked Pre-PL.

Weren't Grobbelaar involved in match fixing?

Sorry, my only contribution to the thread.

Yeah, I remember he put in a suss performance where he let in a few goals that he should have saved.

Oh. I better apologise for that then. The darkness of time has polluted my brain.

I did like him actually, quite the clown, but it seemed to work for him and unnerve the opponent, at least now I can unpollute my brain and think of him as a hero...well....hmmm....he played for Liverpool...oh what a great team they were...think I got away with that. :bandit:

I changed the title as H4H made a good point. It used to say Premiership but fine to go further back.

Having taking on the different options I'd say it's between the two keepers who have won a world cup but not the top flight here: Lloris and Martinez. I'd go for Martinez myself but both are good options.

The accusations stemmed from a game against us iirc, in which we won 3 or 4 nil. I think everyone was just so shocked that we might have legitimately dispatched Liverpool by such a margin, probably the only time in my life.
