If rio is fit, rio plays it is that simple, he is still world class.

 

Obviously he is the first chioce, but Smalling will start more games then him next season, without doubt.
The reality is that his appearances will be few and far between, he's 33 this year..... and his lack of sustained match fitness will mean Smalling will become a more suitable option.
Seem he's going down the Ledley King route, and he will literally be trained and kept for certain key fixtures.....

 

Still think Fletcher playing in a destructive midfield role which he excelled in last season is worth a place.
This season he has been asked to sometimes play a more creative role and creative he is nott
