I think you're forgetting that Solomon is not our player - we will need to sign him and in the face of competition if rumors are true. I read that Spurs might want £15m for him.

I also read a YEP article on-line that said Leeds privately rate only 6 of their players as good enough for the Premiership: Rodon, Bogle, Apmado and Tanaka being named. I reckon the other two are James and Struijk
IMO we actually need around 15 signings to be competitive in the Premiership:

New Goalkeeper (and possibly a new back up 'keeper)
    Right sided center half
    Left sided center half
    Two left backs
Two midfielders (maybe Rothwell would be one)
Three wingers (maybe Solomon would be one)
    Two strikers

    Departures
Meslier (hopefully we can sell him for a decent price)
    Wober (ditto)
    Firpo
    Guilavogui
    Aaronson
    Ramazani
    Gnonto
Bamford (pay him out if necessary)
Joseph (harsh maybe, but if he struggles in the championship, he has no chance in the Premiership)
    Byram

Rothwell & Solomon might leave if Leeds are given too high an asking price by their parent club, (or if they get better offers)
Christiansen, Harrison, Greenwood, Gelhardt, Gyabi - hopefully they can all be sold.

I didn't forget. I stated underneath that team that we'd have to sign Solomon on a permanent. <cheers>

Looks about right. When put in black and white like that it looks an impossible task. PSR rules wouldn't allow us to sign 10 quality players

Thank you. All good questions by Ell, which I might answer if we get there.

We still might be in the championship next season or have the EFL declared the season over? This is Leeds, no way is this a done deal yet as this thread is seemingly stating :emoticon-0127-lipss

Never mind PSR, FFP and all the other cobblers, I think Ell has nailed the biggest single problem with trying to survive in the EPL after promotion.

If Burnley, Luton and Sheffield United only had 76 games combined, that is less than 25 each. All the other teams get 38 each. This is blatant cheating and creating a monopoly. If we go up, we should complain to…..

    Aah, the EPL.

    It’s a mystery it really is :frown:<whistle>

Possibly a loan with an obligation to buy after a certain number of games, that number have been reached, triggering the deal.

transfer of players can be completed between clubs virtually any time, but the transfer can only be registered during a transfer window.

Why complete it now. From our point of view, it reduces the chance of being left with a player we don't want. If Rasmus breaks his leg over Easter which puts him out for 12 months, given that Orta is no longer doing contract deals, then the signed pre contract gives us leverage if the buying club tries to cancel the deal.

From Frankfurts point of view, signing him now whilst we are a championship club gives them some financial leverage, that possibly we wouldn't agree to if we get promoted to the EPL.

Bournemouth completed the signing of Sinnisterra, about a week after last season's winter transfer shut. It gave us guaranteed income should we not get promoted (which obviously we didn't), and allowed Bournemouth to pay a price that a Championship club (but maybe not an EPL club) would accept. The transfer wasn't registered until 1st July when transfer window reopened, but everything else was completed outside of the transfer window

Technically 76 games played by 3 clubs is more than 25 games each :emoticon-0105-wink:

Agree, I think Piroe may also go if we get another striker in early, possibly to one of the clubs dropping down.

I think it's more likely we bring in a new striker and Piroe becomes 1st option off the bench.

That would be the same everywhere. Another example would be buying a left sided centre half with Struijk moving to the bench and Wober sold off. We'll end up with a new 10 with Aaronson dropping to the bench and Gelhardt sold off.
