"Rishi Sunak’s resignation peerages will do nothing to help collapsing trust in politics." "At over 800 members, the Lords is already the second-largest legislative chamber in the world after China’s National People’s Congress, and Rishi Sunak’s resignation list means that the last government shovelled 149 new peers in total into the House of Lords. Following this list, the total peers created by Sunak stands at 46, in addition to the 71 new peers by Boris Johnson and 32 by Liz Truss." "It is clear that the Lords as it currently operates is not sustainable and urgently needs to be reformed into a smaller, democratic chamber, with a set number of members who properly reflect all four corners of the UK – not just an endless stream of friends, allies and donors of current and past prime ministers." https://www.electoral-reform.org.uk...nothing-to-help-collapsing-trust-in-politics/ please log in to view this image
To be honest people who continually play down the Pakistani Rape Gangs as just based on racism are contemptable. Have the police not prosecuted them for fear of damaging community cohesion? Has it been kept quiet for years by local authorities and social workers? If it has, then it is as big a scandal as the Pakistani Rape gangs. If none of the above applies then it there is no comparison.
You mean the British Pakistani rape gangs? These were majority British citizens, and included such exotic Pakistani names as: Karen MacGregor and Shelley Davis. And many of the victims were asian girls. Let’s not pretend this is a simple story of Pakistani men abusing white girls. This was an ongoing issue, of criminal gangs of all types, taking young girls and turning them into prostitutes. It has gone on in British culture since Victorian times - and probably long before.
I think that we can all agree that any grooming gangs irrespective of race exploiting young vunerable people is vile and disgusting. The usual suspects looking to sow racial division because of the issue is reprehensible, which I think was what Badger's post was about.
I've got to go to London early next month, how are the tank defences in Cricklewood? I'm travelling alone too so will probably be robbed and stabbed by lunchtime so I might not even make it there from Paddington
Probably still mulling over the consequences for him following this mornings' s big decision in the High Court. Anyway , this still doesnt answer the question about what to do with Gingers. They have to go . I think anyone who smells of wee and Twiglets needs to be deported. Same goes for Paddington who has been taking English bears jobs. No Rupert film since 1984. Paddington needs to be send back to a high security jail in El Salvador.
Excellent news from the Supreme Court today. And whaddayaknow? Women are determined by biology not ideology. That it's taken a Supreme Court ruling to state what anyone with a scrap of sense knew all along says something about how deluded this country had become. So you can still identify as whatever you feel like, but now, no more men in women's sport, changing rooms, prisons or pretending to be women doctors, as it always should have been. Actually, they can still pretend to be a woman doctor but nurses wont be made to share their changing rooms or women patients forced to accept an intimate examination from a man. Today has been a kick in the balls for some "women". https://www.spiked-online.com/2025/04/16/women-exist-get-over-it/
I agree and think that the judge's summing up was appropriate in mentioning that Trans rights are still recognised. The strangest thing about this case is that it went to court. The Trans community is small and has no bearing on 99% of the population. I still think that the logic of the argument may be correct yet there are far more serious issues to deal with in the UK than to contunually persecute the Trans community who most people woukd be unaware of without the Right Wing press.
This will now almost certainly result in an enormous headache for all operators of sports facilities, public toilets, etc, as Trans people will now have protected characteristics, which means having to provide separate facilities for anyone who identifies as being other than their biological gender. In simple terms, somewhere like St Marys will, in theory, need to provide (at least) three types of toilet - Male, Female, and Trans, possibly two types of Trans, those who were born female, but identify as male, and those who were born male, but identify as female. I predict that there will either be a huge additional cost in providing facilities, or a fudged result, with re-labelling of facilities for those with disabilities as 'facilities for Disabled and Trans'. But then again, I predicted Saints would be challenging for European places this season, so my predictions are often inaccurate.
