… This thread is for me and anyone else who’s excited and optimistic about the playoffs. I might be the only one, so be it. At least I won’t have to see the same old clichés on repeat splattered across almost every other thread … … ‘this team has more points, that’s our bogey team, they have better current form, Mundle won’t be fit, RLB won’t make the subs I want, O’Nien will cost us, we can’t score penalties, etc etc etc’. This thread can be just be for any daft optimists, who I class as normal supporters, who just want to look forward to, and enjoy, a three game chance for promotion to the PL. What’s happened previously is irrelevant. I’ve seen many people posting ‘It’s a lottery’ as if that’s a bad thing … … if it really is such a lottery why can’t it be our ball that comes out Ha’way Sunderland, whatever happens just give it your best shot and make us proud.
Aye, all fair. I cant wait for them and am confident our main players turn up and perform. Nothing to fear in anybody we play as we have proven. If it is Sheff Utd then I would make us slight favourites... Another Wembley trip - like our second home.
I'm definitely with The Monkees . . . . it's better than being with 'The Damned', 'The Sadness' or 'The Boohoo Brigade' n.b. they really are all names of pop groups.
Pointless worrying about things out of our control, que sara sara and all that, good time to be a Sunderland fan no matter what happens for me!
We haven’t even arrived at the playoffs and some people are already spelling out how and why we’ll be relegated/fail to be promoted next season … … once would be fine but it’s every f*cking thread, even the ‘Non Sunderland games’ one. This thread can be like the old joke about the bloke who wears shoes two sizes too small. ‘Doesn’t it hurt?’ ‘Hurts like hell but it’s bliss when I take them off’
I might have my head in the sand but I’m just enjoying the ride, I’ll worry about the premier league when we’re there, If we get battered every week so be it not like we’ve never been through it before
I’m besides myself, already planning the home game ticket, I’ll be making sure I don’t act like an arse and drink until the last minute and complain cos the queues are long as well like the Sheffield playoffs way back when. looking forward to the display as well, loved the cats eyes so wouldn’t mind seeing something like that again.
I'm always pessimistic, so it's good to see you've posted this in time for Bristol and the run in... Hhhaaa'wwwwaaaaayyyyyy the lads
Odd one for me. I would like us to be in the Premier League, but if we dont get promoted, well at least we wont be in the Premier league.
The Premier League is a shambles tbh. Clubs, like Man Utd, continually find new ways to milk the supporters then give all the money away to agents, average players and average managers. This is why I'm convinced clubs like Spurs are content to be average ... ... what's the point of paying out millions more when the ground is always full of Chinese people with brand new scarves.
I can’t wait for that away game on the Friday night. Most likely to be a stop over, unless it’s ‘Boro
It's all a bit mad trying to plan the two legs and Wembley when we don't know who we're playing or if we'll get there. I've already emailed the Argyle and they're happy to have us back as we were such lovely boys and girls before and after the Wycombe game It'd be great if it came off, worked out great last time ... ... just found this off the Wycombe thread. 'It's the Argyle at Oxford Circus W1D 2LT which is on the tube to Wembley, our end. Links to all main stations inc Victoria Coaches. Opens at 10, seating outside, cracking pub. Various people will be coming and going, picking up tickets, etc, but there'll always be around 20/30 there from all over the country ... ... so far there's Scotland, Devon, Cornwall, Hastings, Bristol, Sheffield, Malaga, Mansfield, Oxford, Cambridge and a few others.'
When are the home leg tickets likely to come out? Need to plan when to work from home to sort myself out, be gutted to miss it
Not until after the final day I don't think. Maybe Monday May 5th. That is a bank holiday though so maybe the Tuesday
I know ! I hate last minute planning as well And that’s what we’ll be doing with trains and that Wembley wise. Rooms already booked for Friday and Saturday though so that’s one thing done
When 4th place is confirmed (clear as day that’s where we’ll finish), they should put home tickets on sale - regardless of opposition. Not as if the opponent affect people wanting to go. Sooner they’re on sale, the better.
