To continue, Gary Neville … Despairing at the end of a dire goalless Manchester derby, Gary Neville railed against not only the poor performances of the two teams but the state of Premier League football in general. "This robotic nature of not leaving our positions, being micro-managed within an inch of our lives, not having any freedom to take a risk to go and try and win a football match is becoming an illness in the game," lamented Neville. "It's becoming a disease in the game."
Would take that. Would make sense in terms of televising too in that it would be after other games and allow some build up.
Think I just saw the time assumed it'd be Sunday and so skipped the rest That will definitely be a wind up as there's no chance it'd KO at that time on a work day.
Saw this in the paper and thought of you. IT will be one of the most significant games in the club’s history, it will be one of the biggest. And, after 133 years, definitely be the last at Goodison Park. So it would be nice if Everton fans were told when it is going to be played. At the moment, it is one of 10 top-flight games for Sunday, May 18 (May 17 is FA Cup Final day). It would be thoughtful of the authorities to know if it is going to stay on that day and, if so, what time? But then again, those who decide these types of things don’t do thoughtful.
My understanding is they’re trying to hold out until after this week’s European games (although they’re not supposed to) Specifically Villa and Spurs. Whether they each get through affects where games rearranged for FA Cup finalists go. Which has a knock on to what TV picks move to where .
Spending on agents by club has been released: https://www.thefa.com/news/2025/apr/14/payments-and-transactions-140425 Saints (£9m) joint 2nd lowest in the prem with only Ipswich spending less (£6m). Amazingly Leeds spent £18m - surely they are in huge trouble if they don't go up this season.
It has been an absolutely horrid season, but we do have the opportunity to do something very funny here.
For me, I'd say yes. Will go up on the Saturday, have a night out and then do the game and be able to get a train back before Monday
Much better. I have to work the Monday so would have spent the day in a hotel which would have been ****. Now I can go up Saturday morning and enjoy a weekend there. Would have preferred a later KO but I'll take it.
Interesting that 1000 tickets will have to be collected up there. Be fuming if that's me. With the high profile surrounding this game, we will be forcing the final 500 tickets sold, as well as a random 500 tickets, to be collected from Goodison Park with photographic ID. Supporters selected for collection, will receive details around the process via email, by Friday 2nd May. As a reminder, away tickets should not be passed or sold on and should be used only by the named assigned to the ticket at the time of purchase. The club reserves the right to withhold any tickets that are being collected by someone not matching these details.
Should be all or none, in my opinion. Th club do need to do more regarding away sales though; the amount of fans who buy tickets with no intention of going, just to sell them on is ridiculous, and stops other fans getting on the ladder.
