For me, the ideal choice is whoever shows the biggest bucks! I know that seems short sighted, but I truly want what is going to be best for SAFC as a club. Money is needed for everything in football, so more money, can only mean more to do for the club
I get exactly what you’re saying but I have a bit of a block when it comes to betting sites sponsoring us. I shouldn’t because I’ll still wear the kit but I’d like to think that the club could move on from those types of deals. Maybe I’m the short sighted one, dunno really.
I wouldn't mind something along the lines of First Technology Marine or Fleet Tyre Management, or even Ford Thailand Motors. Obviously the name would need to be shortened, I was thinking something along the lines of this....
think if anything we will hear about it after the season has ended proper or before a potentail PO final
I think we will wait until we know what division before announcing or renewing anybody - because we can command more in premier league and spreadex might not want to pay more
Think you are right. think we have deals ready just waiting for what league. higher the league bigger name to get on the shirts and more money
As fans we know, and generally accept, that we will always be low in the pecking order when it comes to sponsorships. Sometimes you are more than happy with the sponsorship (eg Vaux) and sometimes you have to grit your teeth and accept that the club pocketing money that will go a long way to improve the squad. Then sometimes you have to wonder about the sanity of the owners and senior managers who accept sponsorships without thinking things through, or even consulting the fans on how to mitigate fallout from a sponsorship, maybe like adding something extra to the text, like adding 'airways' in small lettering You'd think fans would be delighted to hear that a major airline has signed as the front of shirt sponsor, but how do you think Sunderland fans would react to this shirt sponsorship?
Well it looks more like a 'United shirt than a Sunderland shirt, which doesn't look right (even with the right badge), unless we've formed an allegiance with Manchester
