They get the ball on the halfway line and move forward with pace and purpose and everytime you think we could be in trouble here, we get the ball 30 yards from goal and I bet their fans don’t feel the same
So far it’s looking like another game where we compete for the first 20 and then suddenly become completely passive.
Genuinely, I feel like other teams just have better overall quality and consistency, especially in the midfield. We seem to collectively have this image in our heads of what Championship quality actually is, but while teams like Coventry, West Brom and Norwich have been going out and getting actual quality, we’ve convinced ourselves that most of our squad is good enough based on nothing except the previous seasons, when we had the likes of Delap, Carvalho, Tufan, Greaves, Seri and Philogene carrying us. We didn’t replace all of those players with like for like quality (save perhaps Millar and Belloumi, but I can’t compare because they’ve spent most of the season injured) and here we are.
Pandur is like a god in goal, feel a bit ashamed I doubted him at the start of the season. Ever since the Rosy is too boring / Acun I want Entertaining Football people had their way this is what we've ended up with. No shots in 30 minutes and McLoughlin more attacking than the midfielders
There’s just zero creativity in this team. Apart from the odd moment of magic or luck we don’t have anyone capable of creating anything.
Coyle is the only ****er that moves forward with any pace, he does little with the ball , but you can’t knock his effort . If the so called flair players ( term used loosely ) put half his effort in , we. Might be alright
Kamara on the bench. Outside of him, who else has pace? Gelhardt a bit, Burstow when he accelerates? Thing is, you don’t need pace necessarily if you have footballing intelligence, but we don’t have much of that either.
