Maybe recency bias but that was the best Masters i've ever watched. Unbelievable shots, horrific mistakes, lead changes every 30 minutes, a playoff and a player completing the grand slam. I'm emotional.
I ran out with an hour to go. Shredded, sitting outside a camping pod watching on my phone. Nice to have the week off though!
Well I thought that was fantastic. Couldnt take my eyes off it and come on here. It was a brilliant round with Aberg and Rose coming hard. I thought Rory stood up to some demons really well. It was just elite sport at its best. I go back to the 80s for masters. I still have lots of VHS highlights. This was up there, bettered only a couple of times. Jack winning in 86 after coming through in the final round age 46. That was the best I have seen. Tigers come back tour in 2019 had me in tears. I would put this as my 3rd best, just before Faldo's play off win and Tigers 12 shot rout. Love the masters and this was special. Well done Rory. One of 6, and some 6 it is. Would not be surprised now to see him win another 6 tbh. His game is better than ever and he still left half a dozen shots out there this week. Quail Hollow next and he loves it there.
Oakmont suits his game for the US Open and then the Open is at Royal Portrush which I presume he's played countless times. He might just win all 4 this year
Can only think of 3 or 4 tournaments that matched this for drama....including The 2012 Medinah Ryder Cup.... 1999 Open when Jean van de Velde cocked it up to let Paul Lawrie win...But Yesterday was as good as anything i've seen for sure
A good observation... I don't think Augusta suits either Rory or Bryson, but a player like Rose its perfect...Rory's true class came through, but Rosey gave him a hell of a scare
I noticed that during the veranda chat after the play, felt sad for him, then thought f it... Rory's year
Just noticed that Shane Lowry hit an 81 on the final day.... disaster for him...he is much better than that
My best…… twice I hit a 74 at Ramside ( many years ago ) but age and aches and pains have reduced my chances of breaking 80 these days… still love playing tho
My best was a 75 on a course in Berkshire (Downshire). Not the hardest course I've played but some tricky holes. I was playing off about 14 at the time so 3 over. I came off the course disgruntled as I had a double bogey on the par 3 17th. Golf eh So what's everyone's best score?
Used to Play 4 or 5 times per week. Handicap was 9 at one point (8.8). Then I got married and my wife said SAFC or golf. Don’t regret a second!
