On another note though, I think it's about time we overhauled the defenders at the club. Keep the usual back 4 but the depth needs sorting, far too many injury ridden players for me. I love Alese and Huggins as players but they can never be relied upon for a season. Hjelde just isn't really that great and even Ballard and Cirkin keep picking up injuries. I'd like to see us get some proper sufficient depth at the back
Would be absolutely fine with selling Ballard personally. £10-15m, replace him with Mepham permanently and a left footed CB to compete with and eventually replace O'Nien. Ballard just doesn't play enough games for me.
It's important that they do. I think most people back the club's growth strategy and it will be the loud minority who will be shouting from the rooftops, no doubt led by Chris Weatherspoon, who seems to attack the club at every given opportunity. Keep on doing what we are doing. I'm hoping Jobe opts to stay if we go up. Even if we don't, I don't think we'll lose too many. Jobe and possibly Hume if the right offer comes in. Given his patchy form, I don't think that the club will receive offers for Dan Neil that they feel they have to accept and Riggy and his family are sensible enough to know that they can give it one more year here. I'm looking forward to seeing if Rigg makes the same jump in quality that Jobe did this year. Cirkin, Mundle and Alese's injuries are likely to keep the wolves away from those three and we have Seelt and Huggins returning from injuries. We will have good money available for team strengthening, whether we go up or not. We're on the right track and it's important we're not side-tracked.
Hope that puts to be some of the daft stuff punted around about him to bed. A talented kid who wants to play more. Good on him. Brighton have laid out the red carpet and sounds like he gets his chance there, which is as I fully expect. No signs of any fuss being made by him either, head down and professional according to Regis. So all good. He gets his chance to prove what he thinks he is, and we get money that perhaps exceeds what we think he is worth now. With an add on. He gets my full backing for the rest of this season, and another he achieves big things in the game.
Aye this, I get people feel annoyed by what’s gone on with him but I just dint agree with booing him like some did when he was subbed in Saturday, we are trying to get promotion here, we need to be behind all of them whilst they are here
So it’s fine for a Sunderland player to like a post showing the Saudis lifting the cup? Of course it was daft.
Man U laughing if they can get a decent bid. Problem is, who do they replace him with? Their recruitment has been shambolic for a while now
No it wasn’t daft at all, they could be their mates lifting the cup, they will be chuffed to bits for them.
I'd make him our captain next year if Neil leaves. Hume is absolutely class and he's a true Sunderland type of player too. We're the perfect fit for each other.
