I see that Gary O'Neil is currently second favourite with the bookies. Yet I don't think I've heard his name mentioned once, by anyone.
He’s Pompey through and through . I expect he’d rather eat his own leg than be involved with us in ANYWAY at all . I wouldn’t blame him .
Don’t look like Rohl is going there then. RB Leipzig are interested in appointing ex-Arsenal and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who is currently in charge of Como, as their new manager. (Calciomercato - in Italian), external
I was saying to my son yesterday that if it is to be an out of work manager like Cooper, Dyche etc, you’d probably expect to see them in the directors box at either the City or Arsenal game?As you’d expect them to want to have a proper match situation look at the current crop of ****. If not, you’d imagine the next manager is currently in a job.
Nah, SR will tell that not to waste their time watching a match, they can just come to this wonderful forum instead to gain some insightful analysis. At least they should do if they have any sense!
See that a lot of the Sheff Wed fans are starting to turn on Röhl after a run of poor results and performances. I suppose it’s natural when as a fan base you know the manager will be leaving in the summer, and throw in that players aren’t getting paid on time, and also know that the manager is leaving, doesn’t exactly add up to a winning die hard formula. Also note that rumours are that DR’s assisiatnt (Pederson), is being tipped to replace him there as the new manager, keeping Powell with him, so meaning Rohl would not be leaving with all of his coaching staff. Does this make sense as I think Southampton would want to keep Rusk at the club as he can’t really go back to U23 manager? Also a place on the coaching staff for Lallana if Rohl is the new manager?
Very True, but doesn’t mean a couple will stay, especially if Pederson gets the managers job as mooted by several SW fans? Guess would also be a cheaper option? May hear a few things this week, as I think their bat **** crazy owner is doing some kind of online chat this week?
Yeah Wednesday burning out is a little too reminiscent of Saints under Ralph. Good first half of the season. Completely drop off second half. Fatigue? Tactics getting worked out? Whatever it is, hopefully it is down to having too small a squad, and that coming to a relatively big fish with money to spend might allow Rohl to compensate for it.
Well to be fair how many supporters/fans can see and have said that Smallbone cannot play the role he is being asked to in midfield? Yet three managers either bring him on or place him in the line-up expecting a second Jimmy Case or something. What is going on? None of us have been involved in the professional game but you can clearly see players in certain positions shouldn't be asked to play a role they can't do and certain players shouldn't be on the pitch. Yet the professionals, who know more than we do, can't.
Absolute bollocks. We're owned by Sport Republic, we won't pay the wages wanted by Stevie G and Fat Frank, not when we can uncover a gem from the Swiss third division! If we we're really lucky he might be half decent and we can sell him on. Goetzpe need that money ££££
Having said that, I'll be delighted if he's right about this bit: "They’re not the only ones, though. As has been suspected for a long time, Danny Rohl is wanted by Southampton, and it’s now believed the Sheffield Wednesday manager is “pushing hard” to bag the job as he becomes the “leading candidate” for the Saints."
Doesn't sound as though SR are even considering Steve Cooper. Can't say it surprises me mind you, given their managerial recruitment so far.
I think you're making a lot of assumptions from random people speculating. I'd be pretty sure he is on their list, but Rohl clearly favourite for them.
How many knew about any of the managers we got coming over the last few years? Most have been totally under the radar - Poch, Koeman, Puel, Pelligrino, Hughes, Ralph, Nathan ****er Jones, Juric. In fact, the only one we knew about really was Martin.
I said before he doesn’t feel like a Saints appointment. Only manager like him I can think of we’ve appointed in the last 15 years is Hughes? Maybe Spors will be different, but yeah just feels like a very anti Saints appointment regardless of who is in charge
