It is very interesting looking at the current table as we have beaten West Brom, Millwall, Watford and Norwich in the last month or so and Middlesbrough twice. If we had lost to any of them we would no longer be in the top six. However our results in the bottom six from Portsmouth down to Plymouth shows wins 4, draws 3 and losses 3. And our record against the top 6 shows 0 wins 4 draws and 4 losses. What does that prove
As the table stands atm, even if we lose to Sunderland, we will still be in the top six by Saturday….and if we win we will be 4 points clear at least going into the last three games
Based on current form we should not fear either Sheff U or Sunderland. They’ve both ‘wobbled’ of late. Milwall’s form is a concern though ……
I think it’s more about an opponents tactics against us rather than not dealing with being favourites. We still struggle to break teams down when they play a more defensive game.
I figure that any team that can't drop a position or two after a loss is in a good position to succeed. When you take a serious look at our fixture against Sunderland it is probably the most important match we have had in more than a decade because if we win, and a couple of other teams help us out, we might be in prime position to grab a play-off spot right at the end. Despite our up and down form throughout the season we are lucky to still be in the mix and that is what this division is all about as each season a supposedly lower team hits the headlines (Luton) and perhaps we can carry that mantle all the way to Wembley and beyond. No matter what happens from here is a bonus by anyone's standard and I believe we can do it but we have to stay totally focused on the prize.
Liam Manning points to 'dangerous' QPR pitch in early Max O'Leary update after Bristol City draw Max O'Leary has been an ever-present in the Bristol City starting line-up in the Championship this season https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...ws/liam-manning-points-dangerous-qpr-10106140
We should never have allowed ourselves to be in a situation where we rely on one keeper. Crazy. Even back in the day we had Fielding and Maenpaa - and later Bentley and Max. I couldn’t even tell you who our number 2 keeper is….. …. And if called upon at what could be the most critical time in BCFCs history since our playoff days under GJ would be unbelievable pressure for the lad.
I guess under the circumstances the FA would allow us to bring in an emergency loan if O'Leary isn't fit ?
No, we’ve other keepers on our books, Bajic has been on the bench every game this season, for instance
So RP if you could choose between O Leary or Bajic who would you choose, and you can’t say neither I may be mistaken but did Franz stand in in one game when no goalie was on the bench?
No we’ve got Bajic and Thomas . Because they’ve played senior football (Bajic in France) Thomas in the league for FGR it don’t comply with emergency loan. Don’t matter if it’s not this season it’s in their career so they are classed as full time.
