Our GD makes it so and obviously Sheff have to win all their games, otherwise its less obviously, 8 points to be mathematically certain but that's a big GD to over turn in 4 games.

Actually if we win the next 2, we'd possibly want blunts to beat Burnley so we will have a better chance of winning the league
Would be even sweeter if we both win our last 4 and we win the title on goal difference considering how mean their defence has been and we’ve had Ilan Sprake in goal for most of the season :emoticon-0148-yes:

And two teams on 100 points, that would feature in a few quizzes in years to come.

That’s not even taking into account it would be hilarious if Wilder missed out in the play offs <laugh>

I’m hoping they both drop more points before then, if not I’ll have to cheer Burnley on, we can’t afford any final game cock ups

Taking a leaf out of your book, watch that plummet next season

He has had the best team in the division for two consecutive seasons so it should not be surprising, a bit like praising pep for his win percentage
Do we really? Seeing how two or three someones get absolutely slated after every game I thought they were all ****? :bandit:

I’ve got to say this has been on my mind a bit too. Ristac is a fabulous poster and knows his onions but is it not just a lack of knowledge of how good other teams players are to keep saying we have the best team?

I’d say all three of our main competitors have better goalkeepers than us, Egan Riley and Esteve are probably the best centre half pairing in the league, is Tanaka better than Brownhill? Is Bogle better than Connor Robert’s? We wanted to “break the bank” to sign Hamer. Bellingham and Cirkin at Sunderland are excellent and I think there are a couple of other youngsters there that the greed is good lot are sniffing around.

Same last season, Leicester had a couple of wingers we couldn’t touch at times (even though we beat them twice but young Archie was schooled at times). I’ll pick one player, Will Smallbone at Southampton, just didn’t look a player on the face of it but we never got near him in three games.

However, where I would agree with Ristac is, we probably have the best collective attack in the league, including subs. With that available to Burnley, I think they would be gone beyond yonder long ago :emoticon-0148-yes:

I honestly believe, if you take our starting 16 as a collective nobody can touch us. Yes we might face a team with two better CB than ours, but they’ll be let down in several other positions and it doesn’t mean our CBs are poor.

Apart from Meslier, we are solid to strong in every position, now Darlow is playing you have to say solid to strong in the first 15 easily (excluding reserve keeper). Is Bogle better than Roberts, it’s questionable and an argument either way. You could argue that Rodon and Struijk are as good as Riley and Esteve but Burnley are more defensive. If those Burnley players are better it’s very marginal

James, Largi, Solomon, Gnonto, Aaronson, Piroe are head and shoulders above their Burnley opposite numbers.

I have always said, Meslier is the exception, and even on a conservative estimate he must have thrown away 8 points. Add that to our tally, we’d be on 96, if we’re still top of the table with the points Meslier has thrown away, surely it’s hard to argue we’re not the best team.

I’m not claiming nobody has a better CB or winger or keeper, but line up our 11 against an opposing 11 and make up the best starting 11 between them and there would be more Leeds players in that team each and every game throw in 5 subs and we’d be double figures most games

Like this, but as they say, the table doesn’t lie. Burnley are level on points with us and Sheffield United would only be three points behind without the deduction. So yes we are currently the best but only just.

Excellent post and we’ve also got the best manager by some distance
