Yesterdays game and our style was poor it must be said and the coaches need to take some of the blame, but I dont think we need to take any chances at all until the play-offs , no team will fancy taking us on over two legs, and then the final will be the lottery it is, but we have outplayed anybody we might face from the top three, and I cant wait for the crunch. On a brighter note, I was reminded yesterday of a home debut by another homegrown, is Jones the next Toddo he can be. OaU.
People walking out is up to them ... ... why they need to announce their boredom threshold and movements, after they leave, is beyond me. That's even more boring than the game. It's like when people say 'I'm not renewing and won't return' ... just go ffs, you're not broadcasting the King's abdication
Absolutely. Let’s hope the last 2-3 games he picks the strongest side to build up abit form for the players, likes of isidor need it in my opinion.
Precisely mate, we have enough injuries without being intense and risking more. Hume and Mepham picked up yellows and were sensible enough not to go in for too many risky challenges. That's being realistic imo.
I agree with the atmosphere, but to be quite honest I don't think it would have been that much better if we'd won 3-0. Would have been a much better game to watch but the outcome is still the same. I think a few games could be really good for Aleksic because he's been way off when he's come in. He's got talent but will need game time to get up to speed, we've got that luxury now. Don't get me wrong the last 2 games have been ****, boring to watch , frustrating but in the bigger scale of things , right now it doesn't really make that much difference
Exactly what I’ve just said, players need to build up abit momentum and form. Can’t expect them to just switch it on in the playoffs
We're the reverse of Southampton ... ... but both clubs know, realistically, this was certain over a month back. It reminded me of when I managed every match one season which was one of the few when there was nothing to fight for. I had to bully, bribe and blackmail the lads to keep going
Decided to book a hotel with free cancellation. Just in case. Looking at having to go down Friday now.
It makes you wonder if RLB has changed the style on purpose, there are times when we've led games and didn't kill them off and ended up sitting back. Only to concede late on. I wonder if for a few games he's trying to play were we do just sit back and let teams come at us
Very wise mate, prices will be insane if us and Boro go down. I’ve booked two in case one does the dirty and sells my room … … ‘Sorry Mr Smug your room has been on fire and won’t be ready’
If so, RLB picked the wrong team if that to be the case, as starting with Watson Isidor and Roberts make no sense at all if playing deep was intended, Roberts for Isidor and another ( Mayenda or Watson) would be all we need up front if we are to concede space imo,
Le Fee looked like the only Premier League standard player in red and white yesterday. We are trying things out, that was evident. The Jones experiment didn't work. We seem to be persevering with the Aleksic out wide experiment, which isn't working either. Play the poor lad in his preferred position and let him show us what he can do. Personally, I wouldn't keep Browne at the club no matter what league we're in next season. He just doesn't fit into our style of play, both in midfield and at full back. What I did notice yesterday, in between shouting at the linesman with the itchy flag arm was that O'Nien rarely brought the ball out of defence like he usually does. He often stopped and gave the ball to Mepham to bring the ball out. This is clearly something the coaching team have been working on to get both centre halfs comfortable at bringing the ball out of defence. I'm all in favour of that. In our position, experimenting is fine imo, but the experimenting should not last beyond the Bristol game.
Having got a 6 game ticket, I sit 2 back from where I used to. Yesterday, the lad2 along from me turned up after 35 minutes, and spent the rest of the game slagging Sunderland. to the point, he said “if this was lnTV I’d have turned it off by now” so I replied “then why not go home and watch something else on telly?” He the. Said “I’ve paid good money for this ticket”, when I said “isn’t that your Grandma’s ticket?” He said, well she paid for it! His granda sits next to me, and every time Swansea got the ball over the half way line he said “Definitely going to score here” and then said “told you” when they scored from a dead ball. Looking to move ky ticket as I might get in trouble staying there!! Why bother going to the game?
