Is that from a reputable source? You don't hear too often about sell on clauses that aren't tied to profit.
Yeah he definitely has a high ceiling, but i still think he will need a lot of game time to reach his potential. Probably a good deal for both of us.
6 years younger too, so there’s probably a noticeable ceiling on Clarkes potential whereas they’ve more time to mould Watson. Clarke going to PSV would be a bit of a backwards step from where he expected his career trajectory to be headed. Easy route to European football but the eredivisie is worse than the championship imo.
Most deals in recent years seem to be purely future sales and not based on profit, when teams sell their young players they essentially want to own 20% of that player and of any future fee. At the very least it seems like most of our dealings are like this but I guess I couldn't say with 100% certainty since none of us were part of the negotiation.
You just can't tell from so few games. But Brighton get a lot right and he has looked handy. Is there a sell on percentage on this deal or is it £10m and that's yer lot?
It's not surprising, especially considering so many teams spread payments over many years so any sell on fee would just be an annual trickle of cash. No selling club would want that.
From what I heard today sounds like it could be an exciting Summer if we lose any of our bigger players
Sure, without total specifics it appears the net for scouting has been cast far and wide and the targets are pretty optimistic. Seems we're more than happy to double the fees for the likes of Aleksic, Isidor, Abdullahi - basically was very reassuring in that the club seem to have a lot of options for all the players we are worried about losing.
Whatever division we end up in I hope we go big on a right winger. I really think it would be the key to unlocking our attacking play if we had a consistent goal threat and chance creator on the right. Over the last 10 games (Leeds away onwards) we've only scored 8 goals. 4 by a striker, 1 by a left winger, 3 from set pieces. That's not enough and the lack of goal threat from both right wing and midfield is a huge problem.
Sounds like the plan mate, want players capable of stepping up to the premier league immediately. EDIT - Salvatore Esposito is a personal favourite of mine.
Player sales are the only way we can do that like. Getting £30m for Jobe and putting £20m of that back into the squad in the form of 2/3 first team players will improve us big style. Thats Sebastianos brother isn’t it? Lad who was at inter as a kid? Haven’t seen much of him
