That depends, statistically teams below us collected 1 point per game. But when they face each other there is 2/3 chance to generate 3 points in total, instead of 2. And do not forget that they are guaranteed minimum 2 points (1 for each), which is their season average, so there is no chance for 0 points. In a nutshell, it all depends who loses/wins but in theory it is not a good thing.
A top team in the Championship, League One or League Two usually averages 2 points a game, so 8 points from 12 is a really decent return. Makes sense they were both promotion seasons.
round 42: saturday - all 3pms cardiff v stoke luton v blackburn portsmouth v derby sheff wed v oxford it's def the time where portsmouth winning today is massively favourable, they will be a much easier game on the final day if they're safe i also think cardiff losing today would be better, its now at the stage where the gap being minimum 2 points is better, 4 games to go after this round the -11 gd swing between ours and cardiff gd is significant too i think if luton fail to win today, they're out of it please log in to view this image
To be honest I don't either but the sooner it's confirmed (for each of the relegation spots) I'll feel better
I think Plymouth could still stay up but I doubt it’d be at our expense at this rate so I’ve stopped worrying about their results. In terms of Cardiff v Stoke - I’d prefer a draw. Due to our better goal difference - Cardiff would still need an extra win than us to go above us regardless of whether they lose or draw today, and it’d be very handy to keep Stoke in it and not improve their GD at the same time. Stoke also have the toughest run in. Draw please.
Plymouth have just gone 0-1... This scrap at the top could really help us... Sheff Utd still have to play Stoke and Cardiff Leeds have to play Stoke and Oxford...
