He went through a dip a couple of months ago, but he has grafted and has come out the other side as consistent once more so fair play to him. I was critical of him during said drop in form, but he has, like you said, been playing well even when the whole team hasn't.
One problem with listing the players like that is it doesn't take into account how many games they've played. So I ran those numbers using starts rather than all appearances, and the results look very different (I excluded anyone with less than 5 starts). I did divide it by minutes at one point but we are trying to measure the player of the season. If Coyle had got injured after about 10 games he would have won the award based on starts.
