Surprised how much grief Mayenda got if I'm honest, I thought he was basically the only useful play in the first half and drove us forward and kept it well in the second, missed a decent chance but was the first sniff he'd gotten all afternoon so not going to hold it against him too much.

Improve his finishing and he’ll be a player. Ridiculous how many good chances he’s missed this season. Only young though and should improve in that area, hopefully

Centre forward and goalkeepers get the most stick as their mistakes lead to no goal or one conceded

it was mayendas first proper chance all game. Yes he should do better but we should be creating more than one chance a game for him

100%, its mad how easily he gets past defenders once he gets going and over the course of this season we have seen his first touch, close control, playmaking etc all improve. At this rate hes going to be a nightmare to play against regardless of what league we are in.

My only criticism would be that we played Rigg, Browne and Aleksic in the wrong positions. When I saw the team selection, I thought Browne would be in the Jobe role, Riggy wide right and Aleksic in the advanced midfield role. None of that happened and I think it showed.

We looked disjointed, but were still able to put in an admirable defensive display and shut out a team which normally scores for fun. The last 20 minutes showed that Norwich could be got at, which has been their Achilles heel all season. Unfortunately, on the night we weren't capable enough to exploit that.

    We move on.

Right now, the 3 games that matter are in May, and I expect a few changes for the Swansea, Bristol and Blackburn games, to try a few things out keep players fresh and re-introduce some of our walking wounded. Then see something like our first eleven starting in RLB's selected formation for the Oxford and QPR games, when we can continue to build momentum and help players find their form and rehearse in time for the big ones.

90, 90, 90 and 82 minutes for Rigg in our last 4 league games

He’s been decent of late but I do hope he gets plenty of rest between now and that first play off game

We’ll need him at his very best.

I definitely agree and think he will get his rest, but actually for me he wouldn't be starting the playoffs. My playoffs starting team is currently:

    Patto

    Hume
    O'Nien
    Mepham
    Cirkin

    Neil
    Jobe
    Le Fee

    Mayenda
    Roberts
    Isidor

Think he could be a massive impact sub in the playoffs for legs and energy

Just seen some pictures from last night. - Coach and Horses in Norwich. Great pub. Supposed to be a home pub I’m told but lots of Sunderland there in the mix and all very friendly. Good to see and I won’t hold Sainz against their fans.

Hopefully the police will make the effort to track down these cowards. They've been sent the videos as have the club.

These people have also been sent a message after they incorrectly reported that Sunderland fans were involved in clashes.

    https://www.westbromnews.co.uk/2025...ng-footage-of-fan-clash-emerges-after-defeat/

    'Good morning Daniel

I've just been sent your report on this 'clash' involving Sunderland supporters.

I was there and can honestly say the problem was caused entirely by the group of West Brom 'supporters'. The Sunderland people, including women and young children, were simply queuing for the train when they were taunted by this group who, at one point, became very aggressive and looked as if they were about to charge. Some of the Sunderland fans called the police who eventually attended. In the meantime a few put themselves between this group and those waiting for the train.

It had become known that this group had already attacked a young Sunderland supporter, walking along on his own, by punching him from behind and knocking him unconscious. Both videos, posted below, have been sent to the police who'll hopefully track down these cowards.

I'd appreciate it if you'd post the videos and help identify these people. Perhaps you might also mention that the Sunderland people were doing nothing more than queuing for their train home and weren't looking for trouble.

    Best regards
