Got the joys of house to the left of us is having his drive renewed so huge noise as they break and remove existing paving and on the other side removal of garage door and replacement so lots of banging and drills .Can't even go as i have some bloke due to quote on some work for me .
I was thinking of buying some noise cancelling headphones, stuff like you can hear today would just do my nut in. I could also play music through them.
That is kind of what they are designed to do lol. I’ve got some Bose quiet comfort ones. Brilliant headphones, but I can’t hear the dog barking to come in from the back yard and forget she’s out there.
I've already got expensive regular headphones I could play music through, my point was I would be buying them for the noise cancelling (ANC), playing music through them is just a bonus. Noise cancelling use active noise, so it's not the point of what they are designed to do, otherwise you'd just by regular headphones, meaning I shouldn't have to play music through ANC for them to work. I should add I'm moderately bilateral deaf, so noise can add to confusion, hence defining between the two.
Yeah you can use the noise cancelling without the music, but I was just saying that they are sold as headphones rather than ear defenders. As they quieten background noise which gives the music more clarity. They don’t cancel all of the noise though, but they would significantly reduce it. If you have deafness that causes confusion between sounds, they are really handy. I’ve used them when my ears have been blocked from water ingress and infection and it just cuts out that dull muffled sound that you can’t work out where it’s coming from.
That’s a good idea. Stops people from interrupting every 5 mins to ask what just happened and how it affects the plot.
