Someone has commented on the clubs own post saying and I quote “he hasn’t a clue he’s going to ruin this club Regis absolutley fed up with him now it’s just crap after crap” our support is absolutely bipolar at times (I don’t really want to use that term but I can’t think of any other term)
I've seen some say that he needs to go, to take KLD with him as hes the worst owner in the championship. so there's that
Would love to see their thoughts on where we’d finish before a ball was kicked, play offs secured with 5 to go given our injuries you’d have been a mentalist to predict it
Mepo was the best player on the pitch again for me. A must sign. Our best centre back by a mile. Neil needs to get his head out of his arse. Seems to be moping about, losing the ball and getting lazy in his passing. Not to mention winning 1/5 tackles. Hope the contract issue isn't weighing on his mind. It's paramount he gets his form back. We play much better with him playing well and Jobe can not expect to carry the CM on his lonesome. I have woke up and still feel frustrated with the ultimate defence for 60-70 mins. There was a thread about players being coached to death and just hold positions, that's what we are but last night was that on steroids. I have been critical of Wilson but Christ, being a striker let's night for a good hour must have been soul destroying. Getting the strongest 11 on the pitch is now is key. However, I also feel it's key to switch/slide the equilibrium more to attack and press rather than deep and hold. A Leeds for or even Coventry would have put to well to the sword last night in the first 60. We need to give the opposition more to think about IMO. Let's hope that happens and we switch to that early season set up of more free flowing attacking intent.
Some people will just never be happy. imagine calling for the manager to go because we’re 4th and have drawn 0-0 Seen people on social media saying Aleksic should never play for us again ffs
Poor lad chucked in from the cold out of position in a side that’s not played together, of course he struggled, he never stopped trying though, he’ll come good I’m the long run
The lad is still 19 and has played what 2 full matches now in England out of position, he’ll never be Messi but give the lad some time to adjust. It’s pathetic all the whinging and moaning, faux outrage.
Far more senior players than him were just a poor last night in their regular positions, mayenda looked a fish out of water last season too, once he settles and gets regular minutes then we can judge him
100% mate ideal rigg sub when he was blowing a couple on months back hopefully now the pressures off we will see more of him rotating with rigg and Enzo, thought both were good last night playing abit deeper too
Aye some fans are absolutely mental. Its why I cant understand the complaints about a few negative posts on here. Some fans are so daft, they'll want Reg out, Aleksic never to play again, they think Tommy Watson isn't very good because he was quiet tonight. Its proper brain swelling stuff.
Thought that Rigg did good last night. Mepham and Hume are having a great season. I think we forget how much we miss Jobe when he is not in the team, the lad is an absolute boss at this level. I would have snapped your hand off for 4 points from those two games.
7 points clear of the final total from the Mowbray season with 5 games to go, might not be liquid football all the time and we’ve definitely missed opportunities to be even better but it’s been a hell of a season so far, cherry on the top at Wembley hopefully
Regis Le Bris on Jobe Bellingham and Norwich draw https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...ris-jobe-bellingham-sunderlands-norwich-draw/ JOBE Bellingham was absent for Sunderland at Norwich City because of the ankle niggle that forced the midfielder to miss the game with Watford a couple of months ago.... Le Bris said: "We'll need freshness for the end of the season so if it's possible to manage the squad with one game, one game and a half a week for them, it will be better." He added: "Jobe is ok. He has a minor ankle injury, nothing serious. Although he wants to play every game, today was an opportunity for him to refresh. We’re able to manage the squad to keep everyone in their best shape, and that was the decision today. Leo was OK, he has been injured for a while so it was better to play only 70 minutes. He's OK." Sunderland secured a top six finish with five games still to play thanks to their draw at Norwich. And while Le Bris is delighted to have a play-off place guaranteed, he says it's crucial his players don't take their foot off the gas. "It's a great achievement," Le Bris said. "It has been a long journey so far with many games to play, and we've played well even if it wasn't always brilliant with the ball. The team spirit was always unbelievable. Like the first half today, even when we were not good with the ball we can feel the energy of the team. It's crucial that we keep going now. It was exactly my speech after the international break. Before the Millwall game I told the players that we have to build momentum through April - it's not just the last game or two games before the end. We have to start now. I think we've done this. We're in a really good place and so we also have the opportunity to manage the squad, to give young players minutes and to give some freshness to others." (Edit: bit more on Le Fee) While Le Bris believes Le Fee is at his best in a central role, he used the Roma loanee on the left after his January arrival because both Mundle and Watson were out injured at the time. But the head coach was coy when asked about his plan for Le Fee in the remaining games. He said: "We don't have to rush the process for Enzo. He played a lot of minutes when he came in and it was tough because we didn't have any left wingers. He did well but now it is possible to manage his minutes and this is much better for us. "At the minute I'm not sure if he'll play on the left again, at the minute we have the chance to try different things. We have earned the chance to do this because of the season we've had so far. We have five games to manage different options."
Fwiw I don’t think we were sent out to defend yesterday we kept Inviting more pressure through stupidity, but get your point my main point here is on Wilson. I feel we’ve been critical of him Since his goal at Leeds he’s only started 4 of the 8 games. Of the games he’s started we’ve played so poor and given no service, his dry patch isn’t as bad as I first thought because no striker is getting goals the way we’re playing he also got benched because he wasn’t fully fit, so that hull game after Leeds is harsh on him too
Decent point and a clean sheet away from home. 4 points from 2 tough away games and never felt like Norwich were going to score against a rotated side. There are zero negatives for me, this was a dead rubber and we played it like a training game
Cant be bothered to read RLB to be honest , soon as I saw the team, I could not see the shape we were going play, and I still cant We dont have any balanced front 3 in the squad , but we do have two decent strikers, so why not give 4/4/2, or 3/5/2 a try.
Sadly for the travelling fans this was a bit of a training exercise and I'm sure Aleksic was fully briefed by RLB. Of course it's not his preferred position but he was building up his match fitness. Enzo was brought initially brought in, out wide, to get to know the team and build up his fitness. I'll just ignore the experts and extremists and get on with my plans for the playoffs tbh. All of these complaints, in my opinion, are just people who want Sunderland/KLD to spend, spend and spend again but claim they don't. They'll say we should be more like Sheff Utd and 'put teams away' but, errr 'hang on they've just dropped out of the top two'. It's just excuse after excuse but the reality, from the 'realists', is that they just want big signings, the PL and more big signings. Being a realist means accepting that asking the owner to use his own money, as Short did, or put the club in massive debt, as Short did, is unrealistic.
