In the stats convo i was talking about last night, I mentioned Kamara not beating a man and getting a cross in. He puts in an average of 2.27 crosses a game, which (after removing players who haven't played the equivalent of 5 whole games) puts him 10th in the team. He's a wide player playing in his favoured position, and frankly, that's not good enough. Current wide regulars: Coyle averages 4.03, Gelhardt 3.23 and Macca 0.56 (although we know he's not a natural fullback, and is in there for his defensive capabilities, also his average will be brought down by the games he played CB) Unavailable players: Belloumi 6.37, Giles 6.00 (but couldn't defend for ****), Millar 5.36. He's also behind Puerta and Palmer.
Thats the problem Kamara doesnt play direct He barely tries to dribble past anyone He usually cuts it back, doesnt really do much So its either tactical or hes low of confidence/just not good enough yet

Kinda begs the question, if he doesn't like to do the things that wingers are supposed do, then why do we play him on the wing? He seems to like running onto a ball behind the defence, so why not play him as a number 10?

That's fair enough, but it doesn't mean we don't create enough or score enough because of Kamara. We've had the same problem for a while now and it boils down to how our general play doesn't work out - which is more often than not quite stifled by our unwillingness to progress the ball quickly and effectively. You can see we've been trying it more this season, but not having that inherent ability at the back it's the reason why we've often been so wasteful or lacklustre.

I think its even simpler than that. It's just our final ball is always so poor wherever/whoever it comes from. Would this have been better if we had Millar, Belloumi, Matazo fit or if Giles had delivered like he should. Whi knows
