Surprisingly it's an on going debate in their fanbase whether Delap or Hirst should start, I think at a fan event majority of people voted in favor of Hirst last month.
His form since injury is unreal in what’s a terrible side too, on a free too isn’t he? Deffo better option than podgy pov
I wonder how entertaining the links will be on this thread if we do reach the PL. The calibre of young talent should go up tenfold
I’d be hoping for a real mix of youth and experience if we manage to go up. Signing players who’ve been at that level before would be absolutely crucial imo.
Would think there might start being serious well documented bidding wars between us and the likes of brentford, brighton, forest etc. be exciting to see some of the serious talents being linked: Karetsas, Maksimovic, Lorran, Read, Nypan, Mouzakitis, Kostoulas and so on. Although probably be the majority of investment in like 22-25 year olds for the immediate first team who still have potential value increases, can't just sign kids to survive of course.
Mind there are a few young players who would be capable of signing and starting in the PL, Mykhavko could be our version of Bournemouths Zabarnyi and i think hes currently my ideal replacement for O'Nien after promotion. A lot of his movements and abilities are the same strengths O'Nien has with long switches of play and the ability to drop a shoulder under pressure and advance the ball - hes just much more physically imposing being in the top 5 for u21 aerial duel wins for CBs at 19.
Only just clocked the Chelsea Strasbourg relationship. Crazy to think they have a feeder club in a top european league but look at this recruitment and Rosenoir has them 4th https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rc-...667/plus/?saison_id=2024&pos=&detailpos=&w_s= It's similar to our in regards to youth but the immediate impact quality is higher as well as potential. I'd imagine if promoted that this is the type of side we'd be aiming to be.
Wont be short of offers at that price. Seems like such a backward transfer for Ipswich, City have a 20% sell on clause and he has a £30m relegation clause so they’ve basically made nothing on a player that should be going for £40m+.
Yeah if I remember correctly their oldest outfield player has been 22 for the majority of this season, in a way it's better that all those players Chelsea have farmed can get game time but it's absolutely rotten that they can send loads of players there and that team then qualify for the UCL. Mental spending.
ye couple of loans from chelsea but chelsea also sold them players, basically selling to themselves andrey in midfield is a monster apparently
