They stuck with Martin for too long. It was apparent 5 games into the season that his "style" wasn't going to work. The Southampton board should have instructed him to change the way they played, or sacked him and brought in someone more pragmatic. Getting relegated from the PL isn't a crime, but to do it with so little fight is embarrassing
Wait until the summer you'd assume. Probably a few managerial changes will happen and the market will be wider.
Danny rohl looks nailed on been after him ages and sheff wed are owned by a lunatic so he’ll be keen to move on I’d imagine
Strange, strange appointment that was. Strange looking bloke too. He is the same age as Regis, but he looks about 86!
He's the manager that fell out with ELF at Roma, who then had to get Ranieri out of retirement to try and turn things around. "On 18th September 2024, Jurić became the new head coach of Roma, following the sacking of Daniele De Rossi after earning just three points in the first four games of the season. Jurić failed to turn the team's fortunes and was regularly criticized for his management style and poor results; he was eventually dismissed on 10th November 2024, after a 2–3 home loss to Bologna that left Roma 20th in the Europa League table and only four points above the relegation zone in Serie A". Southampton seem a really badly ran club these days. I've heard that the Sheffield Wednesday owner would want a minimum of £10 million as a release clause.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c1k4j7g92kxo Southampton have reached an agreement with manager Ivan Juric to leave following relegation from the Premier League on Sunday.
I think it’s dropped to around 4 now I could be wrong like but if true someone will pay it to have that squad even comfortably safe with all that’s going on is an achievement, outside shot of the playoffs is an incredible job by him
Southampton were once the " model" of how to run a club too. Just shows how important the owners are I wonder if Rohl has been paid? Stuff about the players by wing paid late again. This could put his contract in a different light. That bloke Chansri is a full on nut job
Yep. I think he has to stay whatever. Scampering again will look really bad. He's a decent coach mind, and I think he'd do well at Southampton if that happened.
