https://www.arsenal.com/academy/players/nathan-butler-oyedeji If he does sign for us, hope he's learnt a few tricks from watching him, and sores as regularly as he did
He can play anywhere across the front line, which would be useful in our tactics where movement is key. That Knapper and Wilshere have worked with him does bode well for both his skills and temperament.
Gunn, Marcondes, Sorensen, Hernandez, Mair…I’m sure there is one more but I can’t remember who it is Doyle and Dobbins loans expire
Springett is the other one. Wright's loan also expires, and getting his signature on a permanent deal is uncertain at this point.
Jacob Wright has told the Pinkun that he wants a.permanent transfer to City. I'm guessing that our hierarchy have said they want to keep him for him to come out with that statement.
I suspect that both Sorensen and Hernandez will leave. It has been suggested that Doyle will be too expensive and Dobbin didn’t score in 18 matches at WBA. He has scored for us and seems to have become a fans favourite. Springett has rarely featured in the match day squad this season. Has he been on loan?
He's had a back injury which has kept him from playing all season apart from one U21 game in December.
Keeping Wright and Dobbin would be a result, especially if Hernandez and Sorensen leave the books. No brainer.
Hernandez is just a shadow of the player we bought all those years ago unfortunately. Sorensen has never nailed down a playing position, injuries and team needs have caused him to be used in a variety of positions but he has never been able to nail down a consistent starting position. Time to let them both go.
If Sainz doesn't leave this summer, he'll certainly be off at the end of his contract (Summer 2026). I'd take Dobbin for Sainz today if that was on the table.
The above yes. That said do we really want to be sniffing around more sick note players who've missed chunks of the season? IMO, no. I was gong to post a follow-up to a comment I made in the Jan transfer thread re. the conveyor belt of youth team additions, but life got in the way. Essentially I see us becoming Manchester Hotspur of the EFL, overpaying on poor performers and keeping past it / non-worthwhile players on the books due to some perceived value or commitment to the club, whilst buying lots of youngsters and neglecting the first team
A bit harsh on Dobbin, as far as I’m aware he was left out in the cold at WBA and then has had an unfortunate injury that’s ruled him out for the rest of this season after almost playing every minute in his first 7-8 games for us. We shipped out a load of older players (past it / non-worthwhile) this season? The youngsters being bought are featuring in the first team.
Shane Duffy potentially on the move at the end of the season. NY Red Bulls have apparently put an "offer on the table" according to Chris Reeve of TNC
