<peacedove>After loosing away to Fulham yesterday we are home to Westham on Sunday. No excuse we going to have enough before this game. We still need eleven points to win the title and we have seven games to play. Out of 21 maximum points we need 11 points,
    Games to go:
    1,Sun 13th April Westham (h)
    2, Sun 20th April Leicester (a)
    3.Sun 27th April ,Tottenham (h}
    4, Sun 04th May Chelsea (a}
    5. Sun 11th May Arsenal (h)
    6. Sun 18th May Brighton (a)
    7. Sun. 25th May Crystal Palace (h)
Three games at home and four games away. We need all the available points before Arsenal's game if Arsenal failed to drop points before then to receive a guides of honour from Arsenal, otherwise the title can go to the wire.
    GAME:
    Liverpool v Westham
    Date: 13th April
    Time: 1400 hours
    Venue: Anfield.
    TV: Live on TNT Sports
Referee is yet to be appointed for this game.

Slot has said he absolutely didn't need to rotate anyone and there was more than enough recover time between games.

The guy doesn't seem together the concept of the cumulative effect of minutes in a high intensity league or at least won't admit it.

Imo the exact same team will start again, or as close as.

    Alisson?
Jones, Bradley to come on. (Surely this should be the opposite or even qunasah to close out)
    Konate (doesn't deserve it)
    Vvd (doesn't deserve it)
    Robertson (doesn't deserve it.
    Gravenberch. Totally ****ed. Endo should.
    Macallister.
Szoboszlai. Totally ****ed. Jones or Elliott here but he won't.
Salah. Certainly doesn't merit a start lately.
    Jota. Barely OK.
Gakpo/Diaz the only debate in slots mind.

Slot has options here. But he doesn't want to use them.

All I can hope for is a player reaction.

I don't think physical tiredness is an issue and suspect this is what Slot means. However, I think mental tiredness has a massive part to play. Resting players for a couple of games gets that eagerness to play back.

    I think they look done.

I think they are fatigue and not moving well. gravenberch looks woeful compared to the gliding player of the first half. Szobozlai can run only one way. thats not good enough. Maybe he doesn't want to do more which is really time for a good kick up the arse.

I agree call it rest or drop theres a stadnard to hit and some are far too comfortable.

Agree 100%. We should be better than WHAM and normally we are, but we're not there at the moment.

    Arsenal now have momentum
The fixtures they have while at the latter ends of the season have fallen kindly for them

they have two tougher fixtures in us and Newcastle - however their Newcastle game is at home

conversely - as I have been telling people for months the end to our season is very tricky

Can see Leicester having a new manager / no manager just before they play us - we all know how that goes in football

Any talk of having guards of honour is mental - tbph we will be fortunate if we don’t achieve immortality by being the yardstick to which all other title run ins are compared to and not in a positive way.

I think the combination of the three players who have been allowed to run their contracts down coupled with over use of players is seriously threatening our chances here

we need 11 points and I honestly cannot see more than 9

My hope is that somehow we get three wins before we play Arsenal and somehow get a draw in that game as I cannot see us beating Brighton or Palace if we need to

Saka's return from injury not only means that he's back, it means that he's fresh too, so they will have a strong run towards the end of the season. Nevertheless, they aren't the City side from past seasons so I don't expect them to get maximum points.

We haven't been great but I still think we will do enough to win the league.

    Our league form is

    DWWWWL

We haven’t won 5 league games in a row all season.

It’s obviously important that we bounce right back, 2 losses back to back could suddenly become 1/9 points if suddenly a draw the game after and then pressure just builds.

A win just puts out a bit of the panic before playing Leicester and puts aside the ‘poor form’ that seems to have crept in.

this is a really good point and context to stop over worrying.

    a) bottom half performance: (heaviliy edited to move fulham and bournemouth to top half and officially call Utd and spurs as)
    Games played 16
    Goals scored 43
    Goal conceded 14
    Games won 14
    Games drawn 2
    Games lost 0
    Win ratio 88%
    Draw ratio 12%
    Loss ratio 0%
    Goals per game 2.69
    Goals conceded per game 0.88
    Points per game 2.75

Now obviously this is all about form not ancient history way back to 2024.

2.Blocks performance: If we win the game at the weekend its 9 out of 12 points and bang in line with most of the other blocks.

    3. Home record
    Games played 15
    Goals scored 32
    Goal conceded 11
    Games won 12
    Games drawn 2
    Games lost 1
    Win ratio 80%
    Draw ratio 13%
    Loss ratio 7%
    Goals per game 2.13
    Goals conceded per game 0.73

Again ok theres ancient history in there but that one loss is ancient history, 1 draw was for a red card for robertson and 1 was that ****e trent show v utd.

The record suggests west ham will struggle and most likley score will be 3-1
    .
    4.This is my form tracker.
each dip is a draw and you can see 2 or 3 wins then a draw and the only time we had 2 draws in 3 was everton (late equaliser) and villa (again lost the lead)

    upload_2025-4-9_14-37-49.png

    So:

Theres absolutely no reason to assume we won't win 4 games out of 7 from here. Theres absolutely every reason to believe we should be winning the next 2 (bottom half teams and first is at home) and frankly spurs while not really a bottom half squad are going to be focused on the europa (hopefully) and playing at anfield

    Gravenberch Macallister
    Salah Szoboszlai Gakpo
    Jota.

    Diaz as no1 sub.

Hopefully a enjoyable game wihtout morons dooing moroinc things and the crowd drive them on a bit.

Again 7 days between games. if yuo can't regain some measure of running then sub em all at half time

I'm not normally the pessimist on the thread but... If you go look at our last dozen games in all competitions...

    LDWDWWWWLLWL

We've won only 50% of our games- and lost three of the last four (and the one we won we look poor in). A lot of our "W" were marginal and perhaps where we wern't the better team- we are still in a slump, even if we're getting results. We did so blisteringly well in the first part of the season, it's likely not going to hurt us but I think saying "we've only lost two league games" is a bit deceptive because our recent slump has lasted through FA Cup, League Cup, and Champ League too. The loss against Fulham wasn't an anomaly- it matches how we've been lately... it's just we haven't played many league games lately.

The losses against Fulham, Newcastle and PSG were all against teams that are used to starting games with a hard press.

West Ham may try that but they're not as adept at ir. They're more likely to sit deep and counter.

how may psgs are we meeting in the next 7 games?

again look at the detail of the results.
Fulham Away. Top half side (they are) loss. 3 terrible goals via shocking mistakes
Everton Home bottom half side. win.
Newcastle Nuetral venue. top half side. loss cup final., again pissy errors
PSG Home. top side we can all see Loss 0-1
    Southampton Home. Bottom half Win
PSG away. top side. Win (flukey, spawny ****)
Newcastle Home. Top half side. Win.
City Away. Top half side Win
Villa Away Top half side Draw.
Wolves Home bottom half side. Win.

So again, looking at all that.

How many PSGs are we playing in the next 7? Arsenal. thats about it. So ok lets just give them a walkover, lets not even try to see its at home and we bascially went to pens v PSG (played to standstill)

how many cup finals are we playing 3 dyas after 120mins v a PSG? yeah none.

How many home games did we win in the last 10. 4 out or 5and all 4 were league games. the other being PSG and again the only goal down to a pissy mistake.

In short We are playing west ham, a totally bottom half side this season, at anfield, they have nothing to play for and we have everyhting to play for. every recent result screams LFC should be winning this.

    7 days between games
Near fit squad. (alisson hopefully back) bradley is back.
    Everything to play for
    home crowd behind us.
all the pissy stupid arrogant errors should be shamed out of them by now by the analyst team.

The circumstances around some games cannot be replicated again this season, no cups, no tiredness, no top quality teams before the title might be won.

What people are doing is convincing themselves west ham are PSG and LFC cannot score anyway (desipte getting 2 v fulham away, a much harder side to play)

In reality if robertson had simply played a ball down the line like any 12 year old would we would have have another 2-2 draw and be moving on here.

West ham have literally nothing on this. they cant score goals and have a maager who has no real interest in scoring goals. they lost to wolves, they drew a bore game with everton ,, they lost to newcastle, they drew with bournemouth at home. they are on the beach.

they are slow, they are ponderous.

Theres no excuse here. LFC players should be absolutely smashing this lot.

Don't you know you're forbidden from being optimistic. It doesn't suit you- you're supposed to be pessimistic! <laugh>

    Fulham are 8th.
Brighton and Palace are in that same ballpark. 5 point gap between the three.

Spurs are further down, but although it's fun to do so as a joke- can't underestimate Spurs as they do occasionally match their reputation as a semi-big club.

Chelsea and Arsenal are obviously both higher in the table. Really, the only bottom table teams we have left to play are West Ham and Leicester. The rest need to be considered mid-table comparable to Fulham, or above.

You are correct though- we should be smashing this lot.. and early season we would have... let's wait to see if we do though.

    its realism.

Theres literally nothing to suggst they will fold like a deckchair here. every bit of data points to their proven record at home and against lower half teams shwoing that they should be winning this game.

Should and will are two different things but theres really no excuses we need 11 whole points.

Theres 6 alone in the next two games.

    that leaves 5 from 5.

give arsenal a walk over if you like. we can literally just shut up shop after leicester ans draw our way to the title if needs must.

again +12GD. everything is in our favour.

they literally just have to do what they are capable of.

Again look to the spurs figures.

LFC v spurs at anfield 27th april (trent might be back)

Europa league semi final 1st May.

now I obviously wish spurs and fat ange all the very best v frankfurt. Lets not put them out before they are out.

Spurs should have both eyes on the Europa semi final if they are in it.
