Wife and myself were lucky enough to be at Wembley and when the lads brought the FA cup back to wearside , we managed to get a place on Fawcett Street as we couldn’t get anywhere near to get to Wearmouth bridge let alone to our ground .We waited and waited way beyond the time the bus was due to get to Roker Park until we finally saw the team with the trophy .Estimated crowd for NUFC around 300,000 estimated crowd for SAFC 1 Million not bad for the so called small club down the road The bus was inundated from Durham to the stadium with crowds eight to ten deep meaning the bus had to crawl all the way which accounted for our extra long wait .
