I agree with Lincoln starting at Watford, I'd even put him in central midfield ahead of Slater. However it was noticeable how we started to have more possession and build through midfield once Alzate was on so I'd have Lincoln out wide in place of Kamara. Palmer is a tricky one though, just seems to be so much better as a sub than when he starts.
Pandur Hughes Lincoln I love forums as it all about opinions. I really didn’t see what Egan brought today.
Both Hughes and Pandur had blinders in amongst a lot of v mediocre performances, though it was a great win, and I loved the way we went for it in the last ten minutes or so. so: Hughes Pandur Egan for coming in and helping keep a clean sheet.
A clean sheet, first and foremost. But he also played the role of “stopper” very well, he made interceptions, he won headers and was in the way when it really mattered. He was great all game and for a free transfer, it’s good to know he’s a reliable option we can call upon when needed.
I think the fact you didn't see it says a lot. He just got on with his job quietly, effectively and efficiently. No cockups or heart in mouth moments, exactly what you need from a centre half in games like this. Even Baz gave him an 8!
Their big striker Michael Smith barely had a touch and got hooked after an hour. That’s what Egan did yesterday.
Five points for first choice, three for second, one for third. Pandur 208 Hughes 161 Egan 20 Lincoln 16 Pedro 8 Puerta 4 McLoughlin 2 Coyle 1 Slater 1 Two clear standouts. Everyone else, meh. You all got it right to be honest.
