Whatever any of us think regarding DF. He has called other players out in the past. And he’s right on largie… since his injury hiatus he’s been a liability, when brought on… caught in possession way too often. He’s not had many opportunities and I think some players struggle with cameos and maybe try too hard to make an impression… so you can argue that if he’d been used more it might have been different
Games 26 Started 7 Goals 4 Assists 2 Chances created 13 Not bad for someone who is lucky to get on for more than 10 minutes Like Gessa points out, why have him on the bench, when Solomon is having a stinker bring him on
he looked promising before his injury, and I think there is an argument that if Farke had rotated his wide men he’d be more match sharp. It’s an argument, not definitive. do you think he’s looked good in his cameos since?
you get an interesting perspective from other fans - most have laughed at our keeper for some time. Many don’t get the Bielsa love in we have and numerous (honest I’m not making this up) have volunteered to me that we were unlucky under Marsch. They generally just see snapshots of your team not the whole picture but sometimes they have a less emotive view. I think our manager likes to play high energy attacking football… Parker and wilder especially Parker build sides designed not to lose. When it gets squeaky bum time you’d maybe rather have a team with that in their dna. Don’t know if it makes them better managers… just different… I wouldn’t want either of them.
If Solomon scores the easy chance then we are sitting top tonight. If Piroe scores of of his easy chances at Portsmouth then we would be at least a point better off and unbeaten in over 20 games. If we had an average championship keeper then we'd have won the league by now.
Evening all, sorry missed the matchday thread, not606 would not work. Every other website no problem. Back working just now. Anyone else have that problem?
Lovely day today but Leeds have spoilt it. Every mate at work on my case (in Geordieland) of Leeds are falling apart again. it even came to a point i wanted to howk someone. I have to scratch my head sometimes in why they put us through torture. But that was woeful yesterday im dreading Tuesday now coz we look a total different team.proper pizzzzzzzzzed off.
that’s 100% correct.. so we’re having a sticky patch now… is that because he’s not rotated? Because of bottle? the Leeds curse? or just every team has a slump in form at some point? Dunno. But we have been the best team in this league by a distance. The reason we’re not already promoted are highlighted above, plus over-performance by 2 other teams keepers AND a significant amount of luck going their way. On the flip side, it’s inexcusable to me that we still played a keeper that has underperformed for 4 seasons. We undoubtedly have the best squad on paper. We’ve lost control of the midfield now for 4/5 games and he’s not found a solution. Hackney and Morris on Tuesday for Boro are among the better midfields we’ll play, so he damn well needs to sort it. But do we really have a terrible manager? They live and die by their results but it’s never the full picture.
I think Gruev and Ampadu would be the better midfield. Tanaka has been one of our worst performers for a few games now. Of course, that's if Struijk is okay otherwise Ampadu will have to drop back to centre half.
Southampton set a record for quickest PL relegation, funny really as they’ve been gloating about us crumbling
We beat Ipswich and Leicester 4 times between them, next season we’ll have a better coach than Farke so it will be fine
