Wow, what a finish in an absolutely awful game. So. Hughes....solid at the back and a fabulous header for the goal. Probably the most important goal of the season Pandur, kept a clean sheet and two game saving saves at the end. Deserves second place for those alone. Lincoln, going along with the other votes above, he did have a huge impact on the game in the short time he was on the pitch. .. Three very valuable points which goes without saying when everyone would have snatched your hand off for one when the 90mins were up with the six extra ones still to suffer. .... I thought Slater and Kamara added very little, doubt if they touched the ball a dozen times between them. Which maybe explains why we had a huge hole in midfield and created very little up front. Thought we should have put their rookie 19yr old keeper on his home debut under more pressure. Instead we gave him a very easy ride, until that bullet header from Hughes in injury time. Mentions in dispatches, Coyle who stuck to it despite getting caught out a couple of times, one thing can you cannot say about him is that he doesn't go missing, like some. Also Joseph, two shots at goal in the first half, the second he should have scored with, is two more than he's managed since he signed. He will be pleased with his performance tonight. ... Massive win which needs to be backed up with at least a point at Watford on Tuesday night.
Pandur Hughes Lincoln Honourables for Egan, Pedro and Puerta. Thought Joseph, Kamara, Burstow and Alzate looked bright enough. The rest were all fairly poor between them.
Pandour excellent Hughes great header. When do our defenders ever score. They do now. Mcloughlin. I'd like a bit more recognition for this fella. Giles was 4million and he was ****e. This guy is doing it as his 2nd job
I know MOTM should be based on the whole match not just a couple of individual moments but... Pandur - for that save at the end Hughes - for his bullet header Lincoln - for that delivery to Hughes
1. Pandur - Saved us plenty of times today, but that save at the end gave him a very, very deserved clean sheet. 2. Hughes - The only person who could have been MOM, before he scored, other than Pandur. Outstanding at the back, his run out with the ball in the first half reminded me of that Maguire run v QPR. 3. Pedro - Good to see him back, shame he couldn’t get a goal, but outside of that, he was what we needed up front today & last week too. Other notables were McL, a few dodgy passes early on, but I thought he’s doing pretty well at LB. Slater, should have done better with his run, even a shot would have been better than the “pass”. Coyle, Puerta were good again & Egan did well too. So strange how we flip flop from one extreme to the other. Having said that, we weren’t the better team by any stretch of the imagination. Did we deserve the 3 points, probably not, but who cares at this stage?
Pandur - if anyone else is posted as m.o.m then it's a travesty, he kept us in that game. Hughes - not just for the rocket of a header, but general defensive duties were excellent again. Egan - considering he hasn't been playing he did just what was required today, good effort that.
Pedro Hughes Puerta A massive massive win, well done all the team, even though Wednesday are bab, we still make it hard for teams to create anything, we look well organised
