Its no suprise that most (if not all) promoted sides struggle when they go up. It doesn't seem to matter how much they piss the championship by they will still find it tough. These lads in the PL aren't just good players, they are absolute athletes. When forest first went up a few season ago they spent about £120m on an entire new squad (apart from Yates) and finished 4th bottom. It's crazy.
You say you go home and away to games and if you do fair do' s to you. But when I did that, I'll argue against anyone who had a bad word to say against Sunderland. If they said Sunderland played **** in the rain, I would say the opposite. All I care about is how Sunderland do, yes I'll recognize whas going on around us but I wouldn't say ANY team were better than us. How times have changed
All home games, 80% away, wasn’t there today I love Sunderland more than I could explain, those who know me would back it up I don’t believe we’re as good as the sides above us. Not particularly keen on our style of play and don’t like how tight our games are, especially against poorer opposition. We’ve done well overall though and I’m happy about our season (honest )
We'd need at least 8 new starters. Bellingham, Neil and maybe Cirkin/Hume are the only ones capable of competing at the moment.
I think they club would take a big payday for Rigg if it means keeping hold of Jobe. The promotion money + Rigg sale to invest might give us a chance. New keeper New RB X2 CB minimum New LB New RW X1 CM New LW And a starting Striker
Wouldn’t be confident at all with Cirkin and Hume starting in the PL mind Love them both, just don’t think they’re ready for that level yet. The pace and power up there is ridiculous
I think we need investment elsewhere as a priority. Cirkin has it in him to step up IF he can stay fit. I do wonder how much of his injury record is due to his off the field lifestyle.
I think Hume would adjust to Premier league football in a short time scale...he is a good player with a great football brain
Get what you’re saying but his lack of pace would see him struggle imo. He couldn’t handle it against the Mags last season (none of them could mind)
