    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Venue - Swansea.com Stadium
    Date - 5 April 2025
    Kick off - 3pm

Following their hard fought and fully deserved draw at automatic promotion chasing Leeds United, next up for Alan Sheehan’s Swansea squad is a home match against an in-form Deeby County who have won their last 4 matches to move out of the relegation zone.

Last Saturday, Leeds United's automatic promotion hopes suffered another blow as Zan Vipotnik's 96th-minute goal deservedly earned the Swans a 2-2 draw on a dramatic afternoon at Elland Road.

Leeds had looked like claiming an unconvincing win after substitute Wilfried Gnonto drilled them in front four minutes from the end of normal time, but Vipotnik's low drive meant the Whites missed the chance to reclaim top spot in the Championship.

Daniel Farke's side had first gone ahead after just 35 seconds when Brenden Aaronson finished off a goalmouth scramble by poking home from point-blank range.

Illan Meslier then saved his team as he kept out Josh Tymon's first-half penalty - only for the Leeds goalkeeper to go from hero to villain as his fumble allowed Swans defender Harry Darling to score a simple equaliser.

Gnonto thought he had won it with almost his first touch after coming off the bench only for Vipotnik's shot from a tight angle to go under Meslier and into the net.

The point left the Swans in 16th, 5 points above the relegation zone with seven matches remaining this season.

On Wednesday evening, Derby County continued their impressive resurgence by beating Preston North End to claim a fourth successive Championship win and climb out of the relegation zone.

After an underwhelming first half, Derby flew out of the traps in the second and Nat Phillips set up two goals in four minutes for Craig Forsyth and (on-loan Swansea striker) Jerry Yates to secure a 2-0 win and three more crucial points for the hosts.

Preston registered just one shot on target, which came in the second minute when Milutin Osmajic was denied by Derby goalkeeper Jacob Zetterstrom after being played in by a Ryan Nyambe error.

Victory lifted John Eustace's side up two places from 22nd to 20th, as they leapfrogged Cardiff and Hull to move a point clear of the drop zone with seven games to go.

The Swans have played Derby on 49 previous occasions, winning 22, losing 18 and drawing 9.

The teams last met in Swansea in April 2022 when 2 goals from Joel Piroe earned their last Swans a 2-1 victory:

Turning to tomorrow, I think that the Swans can repeat the result from 3 years ago and win 2-1 <cheers>

I also think we can beat Deeby County. Unlikely to be high scoring game, so a 2 - 0 for me.

Derby have sold out their ticket allocation - so at 1800 away fans.

Should be a decent atmosphere - Burnley only brought 600 <cheers>

It feels like we're the away side today. Derby have the better energy. I'd have thought we'd set up to have a go today.

Bit of a tedious watch that first half. Let's not forget Derby played mid-week as well.

Hopefully Sheehan's got something up his sleeve for the second. The subs should hopefully help.
