"Decent win for your lot last night." The Premier League mutters, avoiding eye contact. It begrudgingly holds the door open for you and turns its empty, soul-less eyes to yours. "Such a shame Wolves won too though. Very big match for your lot this weekend. Do you really think you can win it?" Wolves' three wins from their last five league games has them marked as a 'form team' in the division. But we've beaten them once already this season, why not do the double? I guess the main counter argument is that a vast majority of our points this season has come away from home. Maybe less pressure? Possibly more gaps to exploit as home teams push forward? Either way, we'll need to significantly improve on our solitary home win this season if we want to stay up. Palmer's brought some quality and stability to the goalkeeper position and our back line. Recent good performances for Burgess and Townsend hopefully means McKenna sticks with them on the weekend. Morsy reacted well to his recent stint on the bench, so he's hopefully got enough in the tank to partner Cajuste in the middle again. As for attack, arguably we need someone more forward-thinking on the right than Johnson, but he does bring balance. I'll be optimistic and go for another 2-1 win for Town.
A game that's only got more important as the seasons gone on. So often over the years the pivotal games have ended in disappointment, and games we've built up this season as winnable we've not turned up (Like Southampton). On that basis, hopeful for a win but expecting defeat. 1-2 Wolves.
If I was Wolves coach I’d be thinking must not lose, keep that 9 point gap and Ipswich need 10 with goal difference. Then I would look at the remaining fixtures and think a win against Leicester, you need 13 points. I’d look through the remaining Ipswich games, even if you win the last 4 it wouldn’t be enough and your next three are as tough as they come. If they win, it’s season over, draw and you have more than a mountain, lose and huge pressure starts to fall on Wolves and you’ll have belief I’m going 1-1 as I think they’ll try and shut up shop
On this basis, we're only another win away from Yorkie's return to 12-0 score predictions from last season.
Despite being a Norwich supporter I would love to see you do it. Survival now would be up there with Leicester winning the Prem!
