Temporarily, because Starmer is trying to appease Trump. It's the wrong approach and will backfire. Bullies like Trump only respect those that stand up to them, like Carney is doing for Canada.

Really hoping that Mark Carney continues as our PM after the April 28th Federal election. In "normal" times after 10 years of Justin Trudeau Liberal government it would have would have been time for a switch to Conservative, but the current leader, Pierre Poilievre (a short arsed little bastard Trump clone) with the ongoing Trump Tariff trade wars, is going to strike out as the previous 2 leaders have.

So stock markets have tanked after the Mango Mussolini introduced his barmy tarriffs. Does anyone else supect that Trump will suddenly withdraw the tarriffs in a couple of weeks and a lot of his cronies will be found to have bought at the bottom of the market and made a kiiling as stock prices recover?

With now only 3 weeks to go before our Federal election, Liberal Mark Carney continues to hold a 6% lead. Analysts believe that for Poilievre and the Conservatives to win, they need a strong NDP (New Democrats - Socialists/Labour) showing to draw Left wing votes away from the Liberals. Also the PPC (People's Party of Canada) a fledgling far Right wing alternative Conservative party will draw some support from Poilievre. This party is led by Maxime Bernier, who as a Cabinet Minister in a Mulroney government once famously left his briefcase, containing top secret documents, in the home of his biker girlfriend, leading to his resignation, a feat that will always stick with him. Despite this, in a past Conservative leadership race he was only narrowly defeated. The Green party is downright weird as it boasts co-leaders.

Maxime Bernier and his biker not of skirt!

....bit of skirt, I guess good (bad) taste in women for a Cabinet Minister, nice for a bit of slap & tickle though, just don't leave your briefs at her place the next morning!

So, state control of the Scunny steelworks - but not renationalisation apparently. Temporary until a 'permanent solution' can be reached

I think finally Starmer made a good call but will now come under pressure to do the same each time a similar situation arises
