The pgmol didn't even take 24 hours to contact lfc and admit its a massive error.

    It's on the beeb website.

The ref even admitted live apparently that it was reckless so he had absolutely no excuse for pulling yellow there.

Tierney was the total **** and bigger error and should be examined now for corruption on the level of coote.

In fairness having such short arms means he has to go with his legs.

We are lucky he didn't go with a bite like the little t-rex wannabe he is.

You and I on this site are like two boxers who have a bust up, dust off and then go for a drink together. Oddly enough (if it is indeed odd), we pretty much agree on everything football related but nothing non-football related.

‘reckless’ is the wording they use to justify a yellow. It’s the definition in the rule book.

for it to be a red has to be more than reckless and endangering the opposition - which it obv was. But people saying should have been a red cos was reckless isn’t factually correct.

Liverpool 1-0 Everton: PGMOL acknowledges James Tarkowski should have been sent off for foul on Alexis Mac Allister
James Tarkowski was only given a yellow card for a high tackle on Alexis Mac Allister during Everton's 1-0 defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday; VAR reviewed incident but did not recommend an on-field review; PGMOL now acknowledges officials made an error

Can the onfield referee request to see a pitch side VAR screen or can they only be called to the screen by the VAR? For example, last night when Tierney kept with the onfield decision for the possible red card, could the referee have asked to see the incident over or is the VAR's word final? You could say why would the referee request to look at the monitor when his decision has been supported but I'm just wondering is it a possibility?

No they can’t. Only var can recommend they go to the screen.

As we approach the 30th anniversary of paul rideout's second best ever Everton goal (only topped by tarkowski winning the best side ever at goodison trophy 2-2) i think we should take a moment.

A moment to wonder what would happen if van dijk turned thug like tarkowski?

Fresh from trying to break macallisters leg. The journey man cb with big ears tried to wrestle with van dijk after a corner and got absolutely rag dolled by the man mountain.

If van dijk really wanted to hurt someone I don't think many would get up after he hit them with a body check.

Said it numerous times, I can accept the on field ref making a mistake. They get one view of the incident and have to make a decision on the spot.

VAR getting things wrong is totally unacceptable. There is absolutely no excuse for them making as mistake, especially with how long they take to make a decision.

I can accept it but I can’t accept last nights performance
Not just the two big moments
There was some crazy pushing and shoving from us
    That went unpunished

the two occasions where the ref blew up rather than play advantage were crazy

Jota looked like he played the ball off the defender and Pickford not seeing red was baffling

    onto Fulham

There is inconsitencies with that as well. Tierney took 10 seconds to clear the red card tackle but in other games like Chelsea game last night there is delays of 3 or 4 minutes to sort out an issue.

Sam Barrott is not an experienced referee, I cannot understand why he was chosen to be the referee for the greatest Derby in the world.

One that’s been missed in all this is the Brighton villa game as well. Villa forward gone past defender in the box who stuck out a leg and tripped him up - one of most nailed on pens you’ll ever see and somehow the ref and var managed to miss it.

Something is just wrong with var. they still seem hell bent on this weird ‘clear and obvious’ issue when it just needs to be, is that the wrong call? Yes, ok overturn it. And for 100% no question needed ones, just tell the ref rather than getting them to review it.

Reports of death threats to tarkowski and his family ffs <doh>

Some people really are pathetic - how does a game that lets be honest you have zero involvement in make you feel that strongly that need to put that out there.
