Yeah, I'd imagine it will be Turner and Wheal who get left out. Given that we're wanting to bat deeper than before, it wouldn't make sense to leave out Fuller. We're used to Fuller-Barker-Abbott at 8-9-10. Hampton-Fuller-Abbott might be stronger than that, but (for example) Hampton-Abbott-Wheal wouldn't be.
Yorks squad looks a little light on batting (famous last words, without Root and Brook of course). If I were them I'd play Tattersall at 7 as a specialist batsman and that would push Thompson down to 8 and Bess down to 9 (I'd play instead of Moriarty), Coad 10 and the rabbit Jack White at 11. If they do that then it suddenly looks a lot stronger, so hopefully they won't! Ben Cliff is one of their young seamers who might get a game, not sure about his batting.
I see the usual pre-season interviews have been flooding into the BBC Sport county cricket page. Why do they bother, what player or coach is going to say anything other than "We're really looking forward to the season, we're going to try to win every game and the title..."?! Nobody's going to say "There's not much point in us turning up this season, we won't try very hard and will probably get relegated" !
Really looking forward to this season and i'm hoping the young players can come of age. Hoping for big things for Prest and Albert in particular.
Malan didn't bother diving or even stretching his bat out. Yorkshire have thrown away at least 3 wickets this morning.
