Farke's side, currently holding the second automatic promotion spot by virtue of goal difference over Burnley, desperately need a win to keep pace with the Blades, who occupy top spot, three points ahead! With only seven games remaining, any dropped points from either teams could prove fatal to their Premier League aspirations. However, Luton Town, despite their league position, present a formidable challenge. The Hatters are battling to escape the relegation zone and have found recent form, winning two of their last three matches. A victory against Leeds could provide a significant boost to their survival hopes. Their physical, direct style of play and threat from set-pieces will require Leeds to be at their defensive best. Fortunately for Leeds, Farke provided an encouraging injury update in his pre-match presser. He confirmed that no new injury concerns, and both Max Wober and Patrick Bamford are back in contention, bolstering the squad's options from the bench. The return of Ethan Ampadu is unexpected. Only time will tell whether the club have made the right decision to send him back out to war! The biggest talking point, however, is Farke's decision to start Karl Darlow in goal, replacing Illan Meslier. The French shot-stopper has been an ever-present figure this season, but a series of costly errors have led to calls for a change between the sticks. While Farke acknowledged the need for a change in goal, he also hinted at maintaining continuity elsewhere in the team. He praised the impact of Brenden Aaronson's goal against Swansea and the return to fitness of Willy Gnonto, who scored in the same game after recovering from an injury sustained on international duty. Gnonto's recent goals will undoubtedly have boosted his confidence, and fans will be hoping to see more of the Italian youngster on Saturday. On the Luton front, Matt Bloomfield continues to grapple with injury concerns. Jacob Brown remains a long-term absentee, and defender Teden Mengi is still sidelined with a knee injury. Midfield woes persist, with Shandon Baptiste and Marvelous Nakamba both nursing calf problems. Furthermore, Isaiah Jones remains a doubt after picking up a knock whilst on international duty with Guyana.
If we lose this one, pressures off me. I can prepare for another season of travelling to some top class championship footie
That should make you happy. Well, when I say happy……. Tbh I don’t like the prem either, I can be see technically it’s good but I hate the feeling it’s all about money. Especially as we never spend any, though I’m not sure I’d be that pleased if we did buy success. I still remember the days when players joined Leeds aged 15 and stayed for their entire careers. Think I read that Revie got them to sign blank contracts and filled in the money when he’d agreed it with the board.
Norman hunter certainly signed one like that. To be a proper fan now you need to have a degree in accountancy and no interest in football
Nah we thrive on adversity .... let's go through the ringer once more we're the champions of the world in that ....and we've had our downs and downs
