Glorious days and achievements the likes of which we may not see again in our lifetime
The fact that you it was in L1 makes no difference to me

    Wiz, Angelic.

I couldn't agree more, we..........well most understand and enjoy the Championship but that season playing with no East End was fantastic......as good as any and better than 99% of any season we've ever experienced.
Winning every week lifted the entire fan base, sadly, the usual suspects with their agenda wont admit.

There is no agenda I can see RP; that resides with others on other things and other people..... Nobody that I have seen or spoken to is disputing how great a season that was, but they are putting it in context that it was L1, is all.

I'm sorry Supcon, there is absolutely no need for context, either it was a great season or it wasn't, end of.......perhaps not you, but some have an agenda.

No agenda with regards to me, Bristol Post article resonant with my own memories, Cotts created us honours, respect, promotion, harmony and a joyous year, true we had been relegated into a lower league , we were down and the guy got us promoted and won the 'Mickey Mouse cup' as well, a winning double, now history but what a memory for that time.

There have been relatively few highlights in my near 56 years of following City
The LC semi final of ‘71
The FA Cup run to the 6th round in ‘74
Promotion to old first division 1976
    Playoff Final in ‘08
    Cotts season and the Double
    LC Semi in 2018
Freight Rover final win in 1985
Whatever Final it was in Cardiff when we beat Carlisle 2-0 eventually
    And that’s about it
Or have we finished with this season yet ?

I don’t think many (or any) would deny that that season was one of the most memorable and enjoyable for many years. We all have Cotts to thank for the fact we are where we are.
I guess my own personal feelings are; as enjoyable and successful that that season was, I would NOT wish to see relegation to L1 just so we could experience it again.

I remember the season when we went to the final of the Johnstone Paint trophy at Wembley as I extended my return to Canada to at least see City play at the national stadium. I wasn't sure whether I could get tickets but cidered on this site got them for me and we met up at Wembley and I thoroughly enjoyed my day out and of course the win with smoke and fireworks to round off a $3000.00 expense very well spent. Did anyone know that we played in front of the second highest attendance in the world that weekend and only some useless match in Spain tipped us by about a couple of hundred or so, and it was Barcelona vs Real Madrid go figure. Can anyone get me play-off final tickets? :emoticon-0127-lipss

West Brom and Bristol City earn places but Coventry City miss out as EFL experts make Championship play-off prediction
    https://eflanalysis.com/news/west-b...xperts-make-championship-play-off-prediction/
There is plenty to be decided in the race for the play-offs, with the likes of West Brom, Middlesbrough, Coventry City, and Bristol City vying for two places in the top six.

Bristol City's mind-blowing £607m all-time greatest XI - according to wild AI verdict
    https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/bristol-city/bristol-city-dream-team-xi-5051087
Please note that this is based on AI Grok’s tool which is known to make some odd calls at times. So take most of it with a pinch of salt - it’s just a bit of fun!

Forward: John Atyeo -1951–1966: City’s record appearance holder (645) and all-time top scorer (314 goals), Atyeo was a prolific striker and England international. A true legend. Today’s worth: Elite strikers like Erling Haaland exceed £150 million. Atyeo’s scoring record translates to £100–120 million.
Bristol City’s all-time greatest line-up: Basso; Sweeney, Wedlock, Carey, Bryan; Gow, Tinnion, Reid, Ritchie; Atyeo, Maynard - Valuation: £607.5m

It is so amazing to me that we produce individual players who go on to better things and survive at the higher level without too many issues. The simple question has to be that if we are so good at making good players that much better then how come we can't produce an entire team capable of better things? I fully understand that we are with a faint shout at having some post-season action but our inconsistencies have let us down too many times to make it a virtual certainty but nevertheless we are still hanging in the mix and that can only be good news. :emoticon-0137-clapp
