Unlike you I can read without moving my lips as I follow the words with my fingers.

No doubt there are books coming to different conclusions.

Rather live for a good time than a long time. Who wants to live forever, as someone once said.

Ye, I mean, no one wants to live to 100 if you're a babbling vegetable. Two of my grandparents got Alzheimer's, so guess I'm genetically more likely too also. I've told my daughters that if it happens and I'm lucid enough, I'll take a hike up a mountain with a shotgun and a bottle of whisky and end it on my terms - i don't want to be forgetting who my family are and having a Ukrainian wipe my arsehole in a home and not sure you can get a Dignitas exit with Alzheimer's, because of the legal complications.

I wouldn’t do that. I’d take a bottle of rum.

Ha, well hopefully you won't get Alzheimer's/dementia or you might end up up there with a can of Fosters. There are several terminal illnesses that just aren't worth the suffering and degradation before the inevitable end.

I had an aunty who died of motor neurone disease. She also had Chron’s disease. No way would I want to carry on if diagnosed with MND. She was extremely well off but that is no help with these diseases.

Why? Are there only books with one conclusion? How odd to think that.

The book burnings were organised by university lecturers and teachers. Goebbels only turned up at one and spouted off.
