Or the desire judging by his two displays since coming back from injury, I hope his career like his new teammate Josh nosedives, sod the fine words or the 20% sell on we can survive without it.
Brighton have some cracking players and this could also be a good relationship building transfer, they could send us a decent loan next season.
Hopefully he is playing centrally, but I'd play Aleksic out there if we want to rest Mundle. Riggy can probably do a job too.
I saw that he liked Ian hartes comment slagging fans off but didn’t want to start the social media likes argument again
He's not a Premier League defender for me. Too slow. If they offer £10m I think we can replace him with better. Mepham for starters.
If Sheff utd keep recruiting like they have in the championship and target players like Ballard then they might as well not play any prem games and just agree to be relegated. If there's one thing to take from the last 2 sets of relegated sides it's that you need to recruit well and from relatively good value markets to have a chance.
Brighton are only doing to us what we do to teams further down the chain, picking up their top talents. Sometimes it works (Trai Hume) sometimes it doesn’t (Jewison Bennette) Whatever happens to Tommy we’ve done well (Stewart, Clarke and Watson, about £38 million) in the transfer market recently and we could more than double that sum in the next window. So far, Speakman has done brilliant and we’ve no reason to think it will end so keep the faith lads.
aye, bear in mind Tommy Watson is simply at the stage of his career that Jobe was when we got him from Birmingham.
I’m pretty relaxed about any work we may need to do this summer if we don’t manage to get promotion. Mostly our needs will be in defensive and midfield areas, which are easier to recruit for. Even losing Ballard on top of the more expected ones isn’t terrifying. The two main risks are up front (where it’s much harder to find players as we’ve seen in recent years) and then the effect of having too much churn. We have to be careful that we don’t lose too many. Not so much from a talent perspective, but more from a culture one.
Think the club have done well to get the fee they have for a player about to enter last year of his contract. Some of the stuff being spouted on FB about the club is rediculous - we've not allowed our pants to be taken down by the "bigger" club. If Watson is worth £10m in the last year of his contract what price Jobe and Rigg? If these are to go we know we wont be held to ransom by clubs sniffing for a cut price deal. Selling 2 or 3 in summer could fund a higher class of player to come in and completely rebuild the squad for a new push for promotion(assuming we dont go up!)
It may well be ‘three steps forward and two steps back’ … … but that’s the best approach in my opinion. Doing ‘a Luton’ and building a team simply to go up can all go wrong then you need a total rebuild again. One of Leeds, Burnley or Sheffield United are going to miss the automatics and possibly promotion altogether. Then it’s another season ploughing through that parachute money and increasing the debt … … I’m happy as things are and believe the club are building something we've not seen before.
Would be another disappointment, but we have to be aware of our current situation. We don’t have enough minutes up top to keep Isidor and Mayenda truly happy. Then we’ve got abdullahi in the wings. Behind Ogunsuyi there’s geragusian and Neill. That’s before we consider any we may decide to sign. I’m not sure we’ve got the pathway for TO as of right now. If someone came in for either of our main two, that would change things though.
Similarly, if a loyal player stays and turns down a bigger offer, as soon as he underperforms the majority turn on him and want him dropped. Its dog eat dog world, we just have to trust the decision makers invest the money wisely.
When whoppers like this feel the need to put emojis and capital letters it suggests to me it's just bullshit Romano doesn't use emojis
