Anyone but Man City. Would be great to have a season where both domestic cups are won by non 'dirty 6' teams. Makes the game far more interesting. And the boring pundits who love to lick the big 6 arses will need to think of something original to say.
I love how they rigged the Carabao Cup so that all the so called big clubs were kept apart and the Toon **** down their throats.
My preference would be Forest in the CL with us, preferably at the expense of City or Chelsea. So I’d rather we both win all our remaining fixtures!
I think our best bet is to try and land 5th.. Forest will be most likely 10 points above us after Tonight and we ain't going to catch them.
Absolutely not, I wanna see them ****ers suffer! I have a new found hatred for them now since that freelance tramp took them over and the whole Dan Ashworth saga (****ing hilarious how that all played out and ended by the way). They may be streets ahead of us and many others in the world in terms of commercial revenue etc but they are the epitome of kids these days in that their sense of entitlement is deafening! It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that they finish 16th or 17th at the end of the season, that would be absolutely hilarious. Knowing how ****ing jammy they are it wouldn’t at all surprise me if they won the Europa League this season and qualified for CL next season, that would just be typical of them wouldn’t it?
We're challenging for 5th not top 4 and it's not going to be easy. I actually don't mind being in the conference, because we've won a cup, and even if we lose players, they'll be replaced, and the club's always going to keep trying to move forward. Winning that pot was far more enjoyable than qualifying for a competition, but it appears some people have got so far into club finances that they've lost the ****ing plot.
We're challenging for 5th not top 4 Strongly disagree - All teams can take points of each other in the run in, we can take the momentum from the cup win into the final 10 games of the season and with a game in hand can definitely challenge for 4th, potentially catch Forest for 3rd (long shot) It's not going to be easy Strongly Agree - All teams can take points of each other in the run in so we need to be in good form to make it. Winning that pot was far more enjoyable than qualifying for a competition, but it appears some people have got so far into club finances that they've lost the ****ing plot. I don't know any Newcastle fan who has downplayed the cup win and if other clubs fans are doing that then I really don't care about their opinion. Winning the cup was fantastic, Champions League for the additional money and prestige to build the club further will be a bonus
Agree with all this. Forest have to go to Villa, Spurs and Palace. If we win our game in hand, we're outright 4th. But like any match this season, it's a big "if".
You may both be right but it involves them all of a sudden losing half their matches and Newcastle having to win them and some. It just seems a very outside chance to me.
;Down to 7 points now with a game in hand! Could do with Tottenham pulling their finger out tonight and taking points of Chelsea!
Could well be tbh. There was talk over the international window about Poch coming back - was ruled out but no smoke without fire so could see Levy talking to someone in the "nose" like Mourinho trying to get himself fired to take up the position... What did people make of the VAR in Liverpool's game? Obviously admitted the red card was missed but the goal was a farce as well no? Tarkowski wouldn't have been made to attempt to clear the ball if the player in an offside position isn't there regardless of whether he's active or not as A) the pass wouldn't have come there if the player wasn't there and B) even if the pass had come and he wasn't there, Tarkowski would have left it to roll through to dino arms...
Definite red card for Tarkowski. Diaz offside. I thought that Tarkowski was actually impeded from playing the ball properly due to Diaz presence so it should have been offside.
