I would not mind betting that the cheque never existed. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Wierd to compare and contrast Musk to Le Pen in France. If the Democrats return to power, i bet the judges will pursue Musk. Unfortunately , i just feel that Deomcrats will be crushed by Trump to prevent that from happening . Just think we will have another 8 years of this.
Musk’s barely legal vote buying ploy in Wisconsin seems to have gloriously failed. The other judge got in.
America has a real issue with gerrymandering. Wisconsin is an evenly split state, yet Republicans are currently guaranteed 75% of representatives due to the ways county lines are drawn up. So the whole campaign about Democrats destroying democracy was absolute garbage.
Fallen London update, and it’s a worrying one. Came across these two Egyptian immigrants lurking around the edge of the pond on the common, on my morning walk. Managed to take a photo on my phone, which somehow still hasn’t been stolen. But yes, bloody immigrants up to who knows what. #FallenLondon
All of a sudden, we are awash with immigrants from Sub Saharan Africa to the Arctic Circle. Just the other day I watched these freeloaders arrive by sea. No visas, not even an attempt to visit border control - https://scontent-lhr6-2.xx.fbcdn.ne...bBK4cp-16m7QRocs6AcblaD91c3PlWc1A&oe=67F2B623 (god knows if that link will work!) Other illegals from Africa have arrived and just created burrows in the side of sand dunes or thrown twigs in a tree while catching fish in our Loch's. Unbelieveable. All the while, the locals have slimmer pickings and their jobs taken from them. #FallenWestScotland
Plenty of birdsong here, I'm not a great identifier but being close to water there's lots of wildfowl doing what birds do along with the bee's. Tits and other small birds, crows, doves, seagulls fortunately not the chip thieving mob so it's safe to eat on the terrace and of course loads more flocking parakeets. No news of fallen London being reported in the media over here it's regarded as a fantasy rather than anything approaching reality.
With 1st April being the catalyst for a variety of price hikes in the UK, and having been appalled at the predicted annual costs in the Uk, I have had a look at the charges for my utilities in Spain, for the past 6 months. For comparison purposes, my heating and oven (I do a LOT of baking) is electric and my hot water and hob uses gas. Electric €297.80 Water €155.55 Gas €82.08. With regards to heating, I benefit from having windows that face south and west, so I can utilise the winter sun to alleviate some of the cold weather but we’ve also had a horrible 3 week spell of wet weather and overcast skies, which meant using more heating. The windows will count against me in the summer, as I will use more aircon. Water charges, in a country that often has water shortages, has barely changed over the last decade. I use bottled gas and have 3 bottles, so when I I start using my last bottle, I buy 2 new refills. Each bottle lasts for about 4-5 weeks and that’s with me taking a shower every day. I hope this doesn’t depress too many of you but it helps to highlight that the utility companies, in the UK, are taking the piss.
Water is the really taking the piss here in the UK - what you are paying annually we are paying per month. Electricity the factor is about 4-5 times your values for an average user
Tbh, the only mugging you're likely to get in Battersea these days, is if you wander in The Battersea General Store. I bought a bag of cherries in there last summer, solid gold would have cost less per lb.
Sorry misread the 6month bit, water a £159 a month, council tax £247 per month, not quite sure what we are paying for Electricity/gas as I have just changed tariffs, but combined it is over £100 per month
If you ask Grok why Musk was so keen to win the Wisonsin Supreme Court, it tells you that Tesla is currently fighting a legal battle there. Hmm… what are his motivations?
You must have been lucky. According to the Met phone snatching in London is on an industrial scale. I understand that you live there and I know why you are saying it, but a city of almost 9 million is always going to attract criminals no matter how you dress it up. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g39ldprr3o https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3r8xnygrwzo please log in to view this image
