The victims have been paid - which is obviously a good thing in terms of compensation and recognition of the crimes against them .

The payout has been organised by Celtic for victims of Celtic Boys Club.

Celtic have not been found guilty in court .

Celtic have not been found liable in court .

They have negotiated a settlement .

It’s a win for a lot of victims , a part win for the victims lawyers and a small win for Celtic.

The settlement was probably agreed due to how much a full criminal court case would cost and the potential outcomes . Thompsons got the best deal they could I assume based on the weight of evidence .

It’s all been handled without genuine concern for the victims tbf - as you’d expect from a plc with well paid lawyers and by fans of a rival club .

The settlement is agreement. Celtic can't decide to settle unilaterally.

 

Technically thats true, but really the whole thing has been played out on Celtics terms all along. We live in a world where if you throw enough money at it, you can make anything go away.

Celtic dragged the arse out of it, made it as hard and as uncomfortable as possible for the victims, it gets to the point the victims just want an end to it as much as Celtic and to get some form of justice, then they come to a settlement. For them the settlement is as good as an admission of guilt, since Celtic and the boys club are “inextricably linked” after all.

You seem to be forgetting who committed the crime. Justice was served with their imprisonment.

Celtic maintain its not their responsibility. CBC was not a part of Celtic Football Club. Innocent parties will drag out their defence.

"Inextricably linked" is not a judgement, it is a parting shot by Thompsons lawyers.
